Looks like you guys had fun :)! I wish Reflex had a multiplayer option like that.

That looks SO awesome!

I gotta get it! all I have ever used are free sims...

Are you guys running it on laptops or desktops or souped up gaming computers?

I did download the demo (What a POS demo, I though I would at least get to fly) It seemed to play OK on medium, but who knows if it will be the same when I actually have the controls plugged in.

Yeah free sims don't feel anywhere near like the real thing... phoenix does :) I am using both laptops and desktops. You need a decent graphics card to be able to turn up the eye candy, and maintain great frame rate. I mainly run it on a pumped up laptop which I use for work, and no problem maintaining pretty much 60fps with everything turned on to the max, and 8 other helis flying around.

If the demo plays ok, then it should be fine.... pluging in the tx shouldn't make a difference... but if you start joining online sessions, then there might be a hit, since there will be more than just one heli or plank on screen :)

Can you manually change the fps because mine is only about 15-27. It sort of varies. BTW, what do you mean "with everything turned onto the max." ?

No, you can not change the fps... the fps is as high as your computer can handle, so your system right now can run it at 15-27fps. That is limitation of your hardware..... you can try to get better fps by "turning everything down", which means you can turn down the texture so that it's not as crisp, turn down the shaddows, smoke fx , quality of water fx etc.... if you lower the quality of display, your fps will go up, but it just won't look as good. For the purpose of a sim, you probably want good fps, so having good looking fx isn't as important as having good fps and feeling good. Bad fps is hard to fly, and yours is pushing it, I'd recommend turning everything to the lowest :)

I turned the resolution of the scenery down, and when I first start the sim, the FPS is about 90-100, and then as I fly, it steadily gets lower, and lower. I was able to get the FPS around 37-38 by enabling the V-synch option. Is that ample enough?

Yeah, the higher the better....but I think 37-ish is not bad, but if you can get it up higher by turning more things down, the better :) If you sim online, you'll be adding more helis and planks into view, which will lower your frame rate as well.

There must have been a problem with Reflex because I have an Intel GMA 3000 graphics card, 2 GB of RAM, and 2 ghz processers so the FPS should be much higher than it was. I was tired of fooling around with Reflex, so I sold it and bought PHOENIX! :happyd I won't get it for a week or two, but I got it! Can't wait to try out the multiplayer feature!

Awesome.... yeah it will be fun to have a little online funfly with you and others online! You'd need to download all of the updates and new models and scenery :)

We should schedule a set time and days of the week, something that is a good general sim time for all of us, and we can all just check and join in when we can :)

Damn! Phoenix looks like the sim to have! Thought I was getting the mac daddy sim when I bought G4, but Phoenix looks much better. G4 has saved me a lot of parts along the learning curve, but Phoenix looks like a better product and cheaper!

I was looking for the thread where someone had posted a 200 model for the sim. Can't seem to find it now. Was it for G4?

.... although I might be in trouble because I downloaded the Phoenix demo, and couldn't get it to work . Oh well. I'll figure it out.

I run Phoenix on a 3 year old Dell Lattitude D500 laptop and it runs fine.

Cheers,
