s9650 on tail

Will Futaba s9650 work as a tail servo on my Hurricane 550? Almost the same specs on 6V as an s9254 on 4,8V. Reason is that I have one as spare. If not, any other servos cheaper than s9254. No 3D flying.

The servo is a bit too small to mount it in the space provided... as i just found out today :thumbdown:

I have the CNC servo mount to fit on the boom so smaller size will not matter.

I've got the Futaba S9257 fitted to the boom running 4.8v no hassle at all. Not doing any 3D flying just yet but tail control is very good.

if you've got a boom mount, then yes the 9650 will be fine. the one thing i've noticed about 9650's is that they strip out easliy. that's my only complaint about them, that and they don't offer metal replacement gears.
