I have a 611, fairly new. I've owned many of them. This particular 611 is on a Synergy. It's developed a weird right drift, like it's in rate mode.

Some backstory, a few weeks ago I crashed this N9 due to the tail pirouetting out of control suddenly, right after take off. I thought something broke, gear stripped, etc. Nope, nothing. Didn't do a lot of damage but there is no mechanical issue with the tail system, I tore it down completely and rebuilt it checking everything.

The Gyro checks out find on the bench, all the settings are right, it responds correctly to inputs, moving the helicopter gets the desired heading hold reactions from the sensor.

I'm at a loss. My next step is to send it off to Futaba. Any other ideas?

Thanks for any help.

A guy at our field had the exact same problem a few weeks back. He said something about the calibration being off. He had a fairly big crash a few weeks before.

I guess I'd send it in if you've exhausted your own remedies. Over here Futaba has great service and quick turnaround. One of our guys sent in a crushed 601 that we thought was a write off, the bottom case was split open and a chip fell off the board in his hands when he was removing it. He got it back with a new case, wires, replaced chip, checked out and working like new for less than $30!

Yep, definitely a broken 611. I just got it back and now everything is great.
