I everyone thank you for looking. Well I'm trying to get my hurricane 550 completed but I'm having a very big problem. For starters this is my first helicopter that I setup. The problem is that my esc is not responding at all. I'm using the gaui 50 amp esc. My batteries are completely charged and I have the esc plugged into the receiver and nothing. I figured my esc was broken so I ordered a new one which i got today. I picked up a hextronik 80 amp from hobbycity.com. I got everything soldered on the esc and once again I connected everything up and again no response at all. So I got the idea that maybe it's some weird setting on my radio (I'm using a JR 7202 radio by the way). I get to the sub trim menu and I put in a couple of inputs into the throttle channel and all of the sudden my blades start spinning very fast and my brand new esc starts smoking and goes on fire. I'm soo frustrated right now. Do you think reversing the throttle channel might do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Sounds like maybe your throttle channel was reversed to begin with. If the throt is revered...the esc won't arm because it thinks it's at full power on start up.....and that is a safety built in not to start. You may have somehow fooled it when playing around and it started in idle up.

If you didn't burn it up...or have the old one...try again with the throt channel reversed.

yeah, sounds like the channel was reversed.. but even that wouldn't cause a new ESC to smoke..that sounds more like a bad soldering job and 2 wires touched..
