It seems now that whenever I plug in the battery the motor goes to full throttle. I think my receiver may be trashed. Any suggestions? I've got a Walkera 35

That's not much to go on. Disable your motor and see if your servos work. If they still work it's not your receiver. In the meantime, never plug your battery in without having your transmitter on. Also, I think Valrico is in the Tampa area, perhaps a "Freak" around there could take a look at it for you.

Bob,

Thanks for the info and sorry for the lack of detail. Basically, everything works fine except that the motor speed goes very high very quickly and if I let it run for a little bit it revs even higher.

I would love it if there's a "Freak" in the Tampa area who knows what he's doing. I'm sort of just shooting in the dark here and friend of mine has been helping me out but we're all newbies at the heli's.

Thanks!

I am not familiar with the Walkera.
Every other speed control that I have used has a saftey in it so that the motor can not go on till the throttle is at least moved.

If your does not have this safety in it then is your throttle channel reversed? Throttle curve set up backwards?
Since the motor starts anyhow, try plugging it in with the throttle at full.

Jeff,

Thanks for the response. I tried that and as it turns out I have no throttle control at all. I've also tried reversing the throttle channel and it does not help either.

By the way, the speed control is integrated into the receiver on my helicopter and it also goes straight to full throttle with the radio turned off.

Thanks!

Sounds like time to go seperates.

I guess its back to the online store... I'm going to pick up another Walkera receiver and see how that goes. If I were to get a brushless ESC would that work with a non-brushless motor?

Nope, a brushless esc is for brushless motors. Same as a brushed esc is for brushed motors.

Well, I've confirmed that the problem was in the receiver. I bought a new one and the heli fired up just fine! Now I just need to get my blades and tail gears and I'll be ready to crash again!

Thanks for all the help!
