View Full Version : Screw driver for ball link screws?
OK, here's a really dumb question: The screws that secure the ball of a ball/link combo to the helicopter are strange. What sort of screw driver are they designed for? I have a number of types, and none has a nice, tight fit that permits driving the screw all the way in without damaging the head. I'm getting to know my first Raptor (50v2), and the balls seem to have a rather loose fit such that, if the screws are not brought down on them nice and tight, this loose fit is the major source of slop in the control system. So, do you know of a specific make, model, catalog number, and URL for the "right tool for the job"?

Not sure about the size, I used the "medium" Philips included in my "Tamiya Builders Toolkit" :P (It fits perfectly)

Homey Depot has small screwy drivers with common and phillips bits onboard, contained in the handle.
Finding a comfortable driver with the correct bits has been a challenge, and HD has the solution.
About $6.00

http://www.wihatools.com/261serie.htm This is the screwdriver you need. Most of the hobbie places sells them. They stay on the screw and will not silp off. It is 261/ph1x60

I second the JIS set from Heliproz - worth every penny and then some for all of Hirobo and Thunder Tiger helis. Its a no brainer at $16 for all 4
Thanks to all the above for their input. I went with the set from Heliproz (Heliproz item number 888101, package says D'Best Co. 888101 JIS Screwdriver Set, handles of screwdrivers say HOZAN D-155-100 No. 00, No. 0, No.1, and No.2). Screwdriver Nirvana. Very nice. Big difference when driving those pesky little Raptor screws.
