Hey guys, I need a motor for my 2nd TRex that won't break the bank. Don't need high performance, it'll be a scale bird. I have a 35A ESC already, need a motor to match. I'd prefer an inrunner this time (have a -8 and it was a pig to run the wiring). Not a piece of junk, but not a Hacker. I have a Scorpion ESC, does Scorpion make any inrunners?Any suggestions? :cheers

I have run the Eflite six series in my Axe...it ran great in that...I ran it with a 24 tooth pinion...it may work for your application....not sure

There are not that many inrunners that I have seen that have the kind of torque and speed for a 450 size heli...but I have not looked that much for one either...

What are the Align motors? They must be outrunners with an outer can because they have the wires coming out of the bottom, no?

Hey Ed, I think I found a motor, check out the "AKE Ice Cold 450R35". It's a 35A 3500KV 380W motor for only $32 bucks! This looks like a great deal for any future helis (hehe). Of course as always it's out of stock. It's about 6th from the bottom on the HH link below:

Anybody have any info on these motors?

I know, looks like you were right, there aren't too many inrunners for helis! But hey, how about that price!

Price looks good...and there are inrunners...but they are not cheap. LOL

i have one of those IceCold motors in my Shark450, 'cept i ordered the 3800kv model. im very happy with it. i paid 29.95, and the 3500kv is listed at 24.00, i got mine from SN Hobbies.

btw- why do you want an in-runner anyways?

The Neu motor besides being heavy is a great motor. If you are not going to run 4s then I suggest NeuMotors 1107H/1.5Y but if you are going to run 4s I suggest NeuMotors 1107H-2Y.

Now if you are simply looking for a motor that the outside of the can doesn't turn this doesn't always have to be an inrunner. There are outrunners that are concealed. I have a strict policy of not recommending any motor I haven't personally tried so that would limit me to Align 430 series motors in this class.

To answer you and Helismith at the same time, I thought the Align motors were inrunners, then realized they had the outer can. I was just trying to avoid the wiring hassle I ran into with the Scorpion -8. Thanks for your replies!
