View Full Version : HG-5000 - tail not stable..
Hi..
i have a t-rex 450se v2 with the align hg-5000 gyro
and the tail is not stable. it loose position on hard throttle/pitch change
and it does not lock after i have given left rudder, when i let go it's goes 1-2 sec before it locks up. but right rudder it's okay..
plz help!!
maybe it was a setup fault from my side.. found out that i had +32 and -0 on the gear channel.
pretty new to helis so i'm gonna try out with -32 when the next pack is fully charged..
:smokin:
was not the gain that caused the tail drift.. so now i'm out of ideas.. anyone plz help me with this tail problem..
btw.. been following bob's hg-5000 setup video. and everyting is the same settings that he used.. but with a dx7 radio..

Zid,
I'm having problems with the hitec gyro as well. I too watched the finless vid's and know that I have them set up properly. I'm using one on my new T-rex 500 and the other on my 450-v2. I've had to do minor repairs on both recently after the tail let loose and wrecked. Both were locked in on mild flights, inverted, slow forward flight. As soon as I turn it up a notch, the tail let's go.
Crashing's part of the hobby, but watching $2,000.00 worth of my NEW heli's eat dirt because the salesman talked me into buying hitec new gyro is getting a little irritating.
Sorry, I just wanted to say how Im having similar problems but when I think about it I get aggrevated.

I have had perfict results from mine and relly love it, it holds in all conditions, make sure your ball link on the servo horn is on the outer hole on the 180 horn.
late reply but this gyro holds okay for me now.. dead on when i let go out of a piro.
but if i bogg the motor to much the tail let go..

what did you do that it's working okay now?
I just put one on to replace an esky, do I have to even say how much better? I haven't even gone through any detailed set up, just worked to get the linkages 90 degrees, slop free. I haven't watched anyones vids, just read the directions.
vibration will play havoc on a gyro, any vibration?
gain to +63 on the gear channel. tighten up the belt abit more. and use silicon spray inside the tail tube after a day out in the field.. tail is rock steady.. holds full upright climbs inverted climbs. stick bangin.. insane piros and it stops when i let go on the rudder.
holds everyting that i can throw at it..
works perfect on the 450 for me....
