I need some input on how to get the rev max working the way it is supposed to. I have a futaba 9chp and the RM is a sceadu evo hyper 50. I already have it calibrated have made the adjustments to my throttle curves in Idle 1 and the gov values, but it still is overspeeding in flight in the mid stick position. It just does not seem to be controlling the overspeeding. The advice given to be was to first set the headspeed in idle 1 zero pitch position to the desired headspeed that I wanted the limiter to work at and then go to the gov menu and adjust the value in the center value until it causes the RM to drop the headspeed. Is this correct? When I do this, right below 48%, the headspeed drops suddenly and seems to over ride the rest of the throttle curve. Am I close or way off target at this point :? I hope I can get this thing working or else I'll be going back to my gv-1 or a rev lock governor. Thanks.

I did mine different but the again I have a 9z. Are your atv's(endpoints) on your thrtle the same 100/100? If not this would throw everything off. do you get the red led when the magnet passes over the sensor? what are your curves like? Go to modelavainoics(sp) website. they have good info there.

Actually, I have spoken to someone with MA and was told initially to set my aux channel ATV's to 90/90. The instruction manual says to set it to 95/95 for futaba radios and i did that this evening and didn't notice anything different. The red light comes on. One thing I noticed is that the green light stays on through the full throttle stick range in Idle 1 and 2. Is that normal? I don't want to throw in the towell and let this thing whip me, but I'm spinning my wheels trying to get this set up done right. Thanks for your input :!:

The green light staying on in idle 1&2 is normal. It will stay on as long as you're above 15 or 25% can't remember which. I was told by a friend who also has the 9c that the numbers given off MA's website were off for his 9c. Do you have a straight line 100% in idle-up 2? I hope someone else with a 9c can jump in and help.

I don't have a straight line 100% curve in Idle 2 because the RM is not controlling the overspeeding. I had set it for 1850 by the instructions given to me by the MA tech support person, but the problem is that it does not seem to be working at all as far as the limiter keeping from going above 1850 in a underload situation.

Well, after trying again today to get this thing working the way it is supposed to work, I realized that I really don't need this as much as I though I did, so I'll just keep flying it the way I did before I even had the RM. I've always been able to control the overspeeding by loading the head enough to keep it from overspeeding. My other option is to use a backup gv-1 that I have. I don't want to bash this product, but I don't think it should be this difficult to figure out. I have encountered too many contradictory methods on how to set the RM up and I end up more confused. It may be going to the classifieds soon if anyone is interested or send me a pm.

I'm almost to embarassed to add this post because I now have my RM working properly and have to say that I am very happy with it's performance! I ended up having to recalibrate it at the suggestion of a friend who was my voice of reason in dealing with this problem. I feel that it is my responsibility to set the record straight and that if anybody else happens to be having any similar set up problems, try recalibrating it first before giving up on it altogether! Knowing what I know now, the setup does not seem all that complicated, but my frustration was hindering my ability considering that the recalibration of the RM could be the answer I was looking for. I would still have to say that the instructions could have been better written, but that is just my opinion :)

My rev max is working to 1850 head speed, but it won't go any higher than that. Any Ideas

what kinda servo are you using for the RevMax, currently I have JR (N)ES 539, and I want to get rid of it, because of the people saying it strips gear after a while, but I think no high performance servo is needed, right ? What deg/sec and torque or what name/brand is economical ? I have JR TX/RX, but maybe futaba is better ? Thanks !

But, they may not hold up to the vibs in the 90 class heli's either. Use something like a Futaba 9252 or the likes. you can get the 9252's for around $70. It's important to have a really good servo here as well. It it fails at the wrong time or glitches, the outcome might not be very nice! :(

The longer I am thinking about it, the more obvious it is, that actually there is no reason to take a different speed for the throttle servo (actually in general, not just with revmax) than for the CCPM, but of course the torque might be much lower. Because it does not help to change pitch very quickly when the throttle cannot also increase as quickly ? :?: :?: :?:

Well yes, if it fails or glitches, that is not good with either servo - just my 2 cents, but probably when you have 9252 on the cyclic you most probably want the same or same speed for the throttle as well.

And then there is those people who say if the torque of the CCPM servo is not "big enough", then also the servo will not handle the speed as advertized, i.e. in this case a lower spec throttle servo of 0.21s without torque would be as fast as a 0.14s with quite much torque. :lolol

The reality is probably somewhere between, I don't know, maybe experienced flyers can tell ... :noteworthy

I always use something in the same class as the 9252 because I know it will not fail like the lower line of servos's will. It's not critical that the servo be really fast. The servo is pretty much sitting in one spot(desired head speed) waiting to pull back in an over speed situation. Somewhat simplified but pretty much the way it works.

yes, but it also needs to accelerate quite quickly when the headspeed drops too much and same time torque is needed. But anwyay some experienced guy made the comment, that you might only need half of the speed of the cyclics, as hovering is 50% already, so in idle basically you only need half of the travel to change, I see this logical, so that around .25s servo would do in most of the cases.

Anyone can help w/ my rev max and futaba 9c
I can even calibrate Rm although i already do as the instruction told...ex atv -100/+100, aux for futaba -90/+90, trim should be down, linear thr curve even w/ holding the thr cut....Please

I have calibrate the rev max, before i flew the bird im confused about the throtle curve in idl 1 and 2, is it still working or the gov now toke over all the thro curve in switch e
