please help,engine not fitting heli

any advice would be such a help.
i had a shuttle z belt start and decided to buy a shuttle plus kit as the clutch was getting old.
the shuttle z had an irvine 36 engine but when trying to connecting the irvine to the shuttle plus it doesnt fit properly. not sure on on the how to explain but will try, on the engine u have the bar with a thread coming out of it that spins and that bar connects to the clutch of the heli. the clutch on the shuttle z including plastic fan and clutch is shorter than the clutch and fan than the shuttle plus. does this piece come off the irvine engine and if not can it be shortened by sawing some off.

that part is for when you want to put a prop on the engine.

thankyou for your replys guys as it gave me the confidence to take the piece of without worrying about the engine seal. this is what its all about sharing knowledge. thanks again
