Hi,
I installed GAUI CNC tail not long time ago, couple of days ago one blade grip fell off when the blades touched the ground lightly in soft grass . This is happening quite often and with normal tail nothing really happens.
The screw just splitted, I think GAUI provided too long screws. The problem now is that part of the screw can not be removed for the hub and one washer is gone -> can not repair.
I have sent a mail to GAUI with pictures, hope they will reply one day.

that sucks, but glad to hear you weren't injured in the mishap. gaui does in fact stand behind their product pretty good. if you have trouble getting in touch with them, i'd run your issue past the distributor that you got your tail from. i had some issues with my cnc main grips, and readyheli was sort of a "mediator" between me and the brains at gaui. in the end i got brand new grips, and am still a very happy tsh/gaui customer.

Sorry to sound negative, but you did post that the tail touched the ground, that is definitely no fault of GAUI, it failed because it got overstressed by the tail blades hitting the ground.
If we run to the manufacturer after we crashed, demanding an explanation and refund on why the heli did not survive it, we won't have any manufacturers selling us our toys!!!

I do have to admit after seeing the hub...that I really think the stock trex600 is far better....the hub supports the bearings....and the bolt just keeps the holder from flying off.
Glad you didn't get hurt and now I know to never buy a GAUI cnc tail...because it really looks like it is no better than the stock one...I have been running the Gaui thrusted tail and so far have had no problems.....and will now try the trex600...

To be clear, it touched the grass, not the ground. This is happening everytime I fly as I am not flying on a green in a golf course.
The reason I am posting is because the screws delivered are too long and create tension.
Think you need to see the CNC tail to really understand.
I think GAUI have had problems with lenght on screws in general, I have still damaged CNC main blade grip due too short screws.

i also had a problem with my gaui cnc tail...the grips werent nearly tight enough to be flyable...the crews are too long...but if they are too short then the tail binds...anyone else have this problem...

IMHO, the bolt lengths (they are actually shoulder bolts) for the CNC thrusted tail grips are fine. With this tail the bolts locate the hub on the shaft, not the set screws. It is the only way to get the bolts tight enough to take the play out of the tail grips. If you locate the hub on the shaft with the set screws and then put on the grips you will have too much play in the tail grips and vibration WILL break the bolt.
Here's how I set mine up.
Take out the set screws and one grip off the hub.
Loosen the other grip just enough to slide the hub on the TR shaft
Slide the hub on the TR shaft and tighten the shoulder bolt locating it in the indent in the TR shaft. you should be able to tighten this enough that the grip doesn't turn freely. All you have done at this point is locate the hub on the shaft.
Lube the brass thrust bearing on the other grip with light grease (Tri-Flow)
Put a little blue locktite in the hub where the bolt goes
Install the grip. The trick here is not to get it too tight or too loose. What I do:
Tighten the grip until it becomes hard to turn on the hub.
Slowly back the bolt out until it starts to free up
Check for notchiness, how freely the grip turns and/or play and fine adjust
Stop when you find the best compromise
Remove the other grip and repeat.
Put in the set screws with loctite
Let it set long enough for the locktite to setup, recheck and you're done.

Wow, good information, but not well descrinbed in the documentaiton ... more logical the other way around as it the was the other hubs are setup.
Anyhow, hope everyone buying that CNC upgrade read this !

I haven't seen the plastic thrusted grips, but I would assume they are similar to the CNC ones.
I also have a Trex 600 hub and grips that works well too. Since the TR disk is bigger with this setup I found i had to turn the gyro gain down about 4-5 points over the Gaui TR.
