Who needs CanoMod? Well I do but, in the meantime I thought I'd give the 'ol rattle cans a shot on a new FG canopy.
Materials used:
House of Colors Silver base coat
House of Colors Candy Cobalt Blue
House of Colors Candy Purple
Plasticoat White Laquer
Plasticoat Clear Laquer
Exacto Knife
Sheet of notebook paper
Q-tip
hair dryer
I'm real happy with the results. Gives me courage to try another one as soon as I get another canopy. I plan on dying some flybar paddles,tail rotors and a main gear blue with rit-dye and put all of it together with the canopy. What do ya think? I know it'll be hard to see flying but I doubt I'll actualy let this one out of the glass case.
I'd love to see some of you guys give the rattle cans a shot! Especialy one person who shall remain nameless that has more artistic ability in his little toe than I do in my whole body *cough* CrabFu *cough* :thumbup:

Buzz that looks great, you said you couldn't paint. Nothing wrong with that at all. Oh flybar paddles and main blades won't take dye, been there done that

Thanks man! I've tried about 35 times to paint a canopy. This is the best one. That's why I say I can't paint lol.
The main blades won't take dye but the fly-bar paddles and tail rotors will. I got some red ones. I've done the main gears too.

The flybar paddles will not take the dye nor the main blades. Tail rotor blades and main gear will with no problem

Well, not to argue that's not what I'm trying to do here but, take a look at this. Worked just fine for me.

I think you could charge people for Phoenix canopies Buzz.
Guys, this is my Mini Titan. Ahhh... which one is real? Buzz whipped up this little puppy for me, now I fly in the sim with my real canopy! Dude... BuzzkillMod, got some skillz :)

As far as the dye on the paddles... any ideas on why the two of you get different results?

Maybe different materials used by Gaui? I did some last night in blue, used navy blue rit-dye. They came out way too dark almost black after about 30 seconds. I need a lighter blue dye I guess. The main blades are hard to dye and require multiple "settings" in the dye. He might have gotten fly-bar paddles made of thesame material?

Different materials... That makes sense.
I just dyed my main gear and tail bades last night and they turned out very nice. Thanks for the tip on the Rit dye, it works awesome!

Sweet... we can all have a fun fly online, so far it's only been buzz and I from here, and I'm getting sick of crashing into him, need new blood :) I can't wait for phoenix to release the gaui200 model!

my high speed internet is waiting. i hope this kid pays me off soon. i told him phoenix was better, but he really likes G4.
