I'm running 3S and it seems like i'm getting 4:30 from an 800mah pack. This seems very low, perhaps I need to tweak the settings a bit more.

What flight time do you get?

Madness... looks like i need to change motor and pinon.

Just concerned on how to find/make a pinion gear to use with the SD conversion.

So you run belt or SD?

i'm still on belt, but will go SD soon.

as for the pinion my remedy will be,
get a 15/9 pinion dremel the 15T off, and just use the 9T next to my 12T.
with the 12T the 9T would be a better choice instead of the 10T i think,
cause of the more motor rpm the 12T needs.

Hummm....

I'm tempted, but it seems so much easier to just go with 2S. I haven't tried it on 2S yet, I will try it and then decide wether it's worth it.

I've heard people getting a good 7 mins pulling acro/3d on 2s?

Sounds a little long for 2s, but they could be abusing those li-pos. I'd just check in on that again cuz that seems a little long.

I get 7+ hovering around. But, ya I abuse my lipos. Not for the 450 or 500 but for the 200 I do. So far not a single puffed battery for the 200.

I get about that hovering around with 2s also, but I think littleman is flying 3D and is using 2s and is getting about 4.5 minutes. All I'm saying is that 7 minutes sounds a little long.

It does seem long...

Perhaps they used a 1200mah pack or something?

My friend Darkhorse has done some calculations for me and it seems that with a 3300kv motor the 15/10t pinion 'should' work fine with a 3S setup.

Perhaps it won't quite get 11 mins, and with my style of flying i'm looking at more 6mins ( I hope ).

So I've decided that I am going to get a Z-POWER S300 KV3300 with a CC Phoenix 25a ESC. I'm going to have to order from the USA ( residing in the UK currently ) so will be a good week or two until I get it.

Once it is here I will post my results. If all else fails I will go 2S.

i don't see why this should fail........

I should get around 4000rpm and 4:2.1 on the tail.

Theoritcally by using the 15/10t it should match up the SD to the belt drives ratio. My run time will improve almost two fold as I will be able to use the power of the motor more efficently.

Parts will be on order soon and I will post back the results.
