Which switch selects Idle up? the top right one? that says throttle hold?
If so it doesnt seem to make a difference for me. Is there something you have to do to the TX when you get it for it to be able to select idle up? Dont forget this TX is bran new and I havent got all the settings correct yet?
Just trying to setup for CCPM.

Top left - the one that probably says "Flight mode". I think Stunt Mode (a.k.a. Idle Up) default settings are identical to Normal Mode. You need to set up the throttle and pitch curves to make the switch do anything noticeable.

Im lost alittle Mika. Can you explain more. My throttle is setup something like 100 90 80 90 100 etc for stunt. Pitch is just a straight line 0 25 50 75 100 on stunt. When I flick the top left F-Mode switch nothing seems to change. Please could you explain in simple terms for a simple person:YeaBaby:.
Thx

If your pitch curve is a straight line, you should see about zero pitch at mid-stick and negative below that... Is it not doing anything?
Oh, wait... Do you have throttle hold on? Remember it has a third, separate pitch curve. You may be seeing the thottle hold curve instead of stunt mode, regardless of the flight mode switch position.

It looks like its in perminant idle up. The servos go from full to negative. But I havent got idle up switched on. The throttle hold is set as a horizontal line on throttle curve at 0% and for pitch its a straight line.

The throttle hold is set as a horizontal line on throttle curve at 0% and for pitch its a straight line.
In other words, the same as your idle up pitch curve. Are you sure you're not in throttle hold, then?
The only real alternative is that you accidentally set your normal mode for a straight line pitch curve too. Trust me, it can happen when a linear head is subjected to too many curves in one night ;)

If I am in throttle hold I cant get out of it. I have just flicked the 2 switches in every combination I can think and it doesnt make any difference. I could never get throttle hold to work before either.
Do I need to change the hold curve so its the same as stunt? if so would that not work? How is your curves set?

Yep i think thats what he did... when you were setting up your pitch you probably left teh idle up switch on normal...
So in effect Stunt 2 (idle up 1) has no settings pre say.

:YeaBaby:Sounds right but you lost me alittle:YeaBaby:
Im sure I had this problem last time and cant remember how I sorted it.

OK sorted. I didnt have my pitch curve set as I had it as a straight line for setup. Now it works
Thanks Guys:thumbup:

Just unplug your motor. Put idle up on. Keep throttle at mid stick. Get zero pitch and your done.
Then all you need to worry about is the throttle curves for idle up. You should have something like 100, 95, 90, 95, 100... Or there abouts. And thats all there is.
Throttle Hold (Nothing to do with idle up. Although it can be used for it but thats just stupid.)
If you go into your TX and go to Thro curv. scroll down to hold and select it. Then set it to 0. This means when you flick the thorttle hold switch, the throttle will hold at 0 throttle.

As you all said. It does fly better. The heli seems much more stable now. I have got a question as always though. It seems there is a wobble to the heli. In the air the frame is wobbling. I think the blade tracking is out. Would this cause this? I think yes
How do you track with these heads? same way? Ie just adjust the long rods? until the lines on some paper over lap each other?
Had to speed up the swash mix on ELEV and AILE to 80% as it didnt seem to respond very quickly.

Best to keep the long rods the same length and adjust via the adjustable links to the blade grip themselves.
Wobble can come from alot of things.
Improper balance of the blades
improper balance of the flybar
bent main shaft
bent spindle
i have had way out of track blades (but still balanced) and still had no issues with wobble/shaking on the frame.
Links are usually very tight on the head when you first get it so that might be why she doesnt respond very fast as well, let it wear in......
unless your confusing responsiveness with the crazyness you used to experience before with the belt head LOL... these heads are very precise and wount be drifting all over the place.

Wonder what the wobble was then. The main shaft is new and straight. The flybar seems lvl. Will have a closer look:lol:

flybar can be level... i was saying not balanced... IE longer on one side, you need to remove the paddles and measure the flybar make sure its the same length on both side of the flybar cage, then put back on the paddles making sure they too are the same distance away from the flybar cage.

Seems to have sorted itself out now. Flys well. Alittle windy here today so dont want to have a fly until it calms down. Will film it when I get chance and see what you all think.
