hi all,
I'm new to helis, I have a T-rex on witch I mounted a Esky 704A Head Lock Gyro (because I was on a tight budget )
I am wondering if what I'm seing is normal???
I originaly set it up in HeadLock mode (last 50% of the gain) and the thing was working fine until now (18 flights up to now) then I started to see the tail slowly moving to the right at the beginning of a flight and to the left at the end , looks like the voltage drop along the flight time changes the BEC output voltage (ESC problem) and affect the gyro zeroing/gain!
What also worries me is that during the original setup I noticed that when I first plug everything I had to adjust the tail servo trim at 11% to compensate a deviation that occured only after the first 50% of the gain, meaning that when I increased the gain the servo did not move until I reached 50% that correspond to the beginning of the Head Lock mode??? is this normal with this gyro?

Sounds to me like you have it in Rate mode and not Headlock mode..

turn up the gain and reset everything including setting your servo at the right position on the boom, you shouldnt need any trim on the radio if is set up right and also make sure you plug in the signal wire for the headlock mode and turn on the switch on the radio or it will be in Rate mode all the time.

Well I'm not sure of anything since the instruction is not very clear!!!
That thing is supposed to be in rate mode when the gain pot is between 0 and 50% and in HH when between 50 and 100%, am I correct?
What about the signal wire, I understood it has to be connected to 0V if I'm not using it? I need to get a 6ch Rx instead of the 5 I currently have if I want to use one channel to adjust the gain in flight!

So they say thats what the gain done... i have not tested it myself... all i know is it should hold if its in hh mode and from your symtoms its in rate mode still..

Try turning up the gain is all i can suggest to you.... would be better to get that single wire connected so you can switch on HH Mode properly.
