Is the microheli tail worth the $60? Is there anything I should know about it as I'm thinking about upgrading to it. Making a LHS round tomorrow :bad!

I'd get the Shaft Drive instead.

Is the whole tail-pitch-slider-thing of a better quality on the SD?
Not as sloppy as the belt version?

I know this is a 200 thread, but the MH tail for the 450 did not remove the slop they claimed it would!
As for the 200 I'm going to be joining the club soon! Dose it realy fly that good for a small heli?

Think how good you would like it to be, and it's even better.

It flyes exactly like a 200 trex would, maybe even better, IMO. every now and then i have to remind myself that it is a 200, because the deficit in stability that you can expect with a smaller model does not seem to be nearly as big with this one. I hope that makes sense.
Buzzkill - have you had any reliability issues with the tt? I saw something on here a while ago saying that the tt or sd was i little less reliable, im still trying to make sense of this.

OK, I'll jump in on this one. I had a Trex 450 that I put a microheli tail on that seized up on me very quickly... I got in touch with Andy from Microheli and he had me send it in for repair. I sent it USPS delivery conf, and after they recieved it I never saw it again. He went through the whole babblefest about how I needed to confirm delivery and that they never got it etc. etc. My delivery confirmation was what told me they got it. Eventually they quit responding to my emails and PM's so I went through the USPS insurance. I was lucky enough to insure it. They have never gotten back to me as to where it was, no explanation, no apologies and no plan to replace the tail they were supposed to repair and return. I will never buy another Microheli product ever. I would go as far as to say that I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire, but that may be a bit extreme. ;)

Montana, Jim and Sirwallis have hit it right on... I use my 'Mutt 450' to practice hover orientations like nose in, but find its just not as 'alive' as the 200 for fun flying... You'll love it!!! :)

I'm going to be honest, this heli is a beotch to setup, but once you get it setup, I would only trade it for a more expensive heli so I could buy another Gaui ;). This heli is a blast to fly. You won't regret getting it!
BTW, Thanks for the help guys. I just was going to try and take some of the slop out of the tail, but from what I've read, it doesn't sound like it's worth the price. Thanks again.

Cuzz what kind of slop do you have?

If you touch the plastic links that attach to the tail rotor blade grips, they come off. It makes me think what would happen at 4800 rpm x 4 = so... 19,200 rpm. Plus, the tail is made of a lot of plastic, and I wanted to try something to try to eliminate some plastic parts and some slop. It's manageable, but annoying.

Ok, I thought you might be having slop issues with the tail shaft and the bearing on the rotorblade side. I had that kind of slop. The bearing was real loose in it's seat in the tail box. It was causing incredible vibrations so much so I couldn't even see the tail fin it was buzzing so much. I think the carbon side pieces in the tail box are to thin for the stresses on the tail. I made new ones out of 1.6mm frp and the tail shaft is tight and the vibrations dissapeared. I have since come to love and truly enjoy this little beotch. For me this little heli is more fun than my T-rex 500, Beam, or Diablo. :YeaBaby:

I think I'll make a frankenstein tail with the micro heli tail and the stock one like a few others did. I pretty much went through my whole heli checking for slop, vibration problems, etc. and I'm finally ready to get it in the air again.
