Hello all, yep, another rookie...just got my first heli last week.....King 2, and I love it so far. However, I smoked the stock motor before the first battery drained!. That has been replaced with an Align 430L and new ESC.
Anyway...my question is about plastic main rotor blades.....
Are the a good alternative to wood? I do not want to invest in CF at this time, (cause I'm learnin), and I saw the plastic ones online at a good price.
I'm not so sure about them myself
Thanks,
John

I haven't heard much good about the plastics... Too bendy, too heavy, liable to break off at the stem, that sort of thing. The best I've ever had on the King II are HDX 288 mm FRP (http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?products_id=4671)s. Insanely durable, perfect balance and tracking, stiff enough to get good response. At only $15.95 a pair, these are hard to beat for performance and value.

Get align glass fiber blades, track perfect and is a world of difference in flying compared to esky woodies.

This is for a King II... Align doesn't make them that short. Looking at the structure, I'm not sure if they lend themselves well to creative redimensioning.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure how fiberglass would like being trimmed down, but the concept I like. I'm thinking of going with the 288mm ones mentioned. One of my kids has a toy Chinook that the plastic blades are about the same size...hmmm
No really, I have been getting alot of useful information on this forum site..thanks to everyone. I'm going to order a set of the FG, and some "woodies" as back up..and a few more batteries

honestly i prefer the 315 woodies over the 325, more responsive and they last for more than a couple of crashes, unlike the esky ones where if you just look at them funny they break.
