That round thing is a swashplate leveler. They didn't have the gyro in stock but I got the tape anyway for future use ;) I would definitely be posting pics in this thread. I'm in awe as how big the L500 over the BEAM. Can't wait to get started on the build. Don't you hate it when work gets in a way?

That's what vacation days are for...just took one on Friday myself. Almost finished with the build on mine, hope to fly Sunday.

There's a bad case of the flu going around.

I figured that had to be a leveler. I had never seen one from Esprit though and they look a bit different than the trueblood ones.

Yup...started my build last night and stopped around 2:30am. So far, I finished the frame and the tail section. It took me a while to do the frame as I had to improvise because the threaded rod use to guide the nuts into their places was too big. The nuts would not thread into it. I'm also disappointed that the 2.0 linkage is missing from the kit. I would be building it right now but once again, work got in the way. I hope there won't be anymore parts missing from the kit.

what is the 2.0 linkage? I hate the bags being labelled for the steps, some of the parts were in other bags.

I also had the problem with the threaded rod, apparently it is meant to help you insert the nuts.
Mine was too large (the rod, not my nuts).

Definitely don't want a large rod damaging your little nuts. :...: Sorry I couldn't resist, if I didn't say it someone else would have. ;)

Now for actually posting something useful...I also am curious where you are trying to use a 2.0 linkage. I quick check over my heli and it seems that everything is 2.5. My manual didn't exactly match my kit either, they seem to be at different revision levels. For example, mine has a plastic washout block without a brass insert where the manual shows the aluminum washout. Chances are, you have a 2.5 ball to go on a 2.5 link instead of the 2.0.

My kit had the same issue. Mikado had a bad run with the wrong size rod, it sounds like.

I ended up just using some rod I had laying around. I have too much stuff. :P
