Apologies for this guys - but I've gotta tell someone (no-one else seems to understand :) ).

I had a lesson today (my instructor uses Raptor 30's), I started with some FF 8's which needed and couple of corrections and then we moved on to Right hand "race-track" circuits (all right hand turns) - we had tried these last lesson but I was rubbish. But today it just clicked - I was really getting the hang of them (a few "interesting moments, but no real "saves" needed).

After the lesson Paul (my instructor) took a look at my 550 and said that other than adding some expo (purely optional) and changing to Carbon blades, nothing needed changing and it flies nicely - I was really chuffed as he is a perfectionist (and former world 3D competitor).

Altogether a great afternoon :thumbup::thumbup: And what's more it was really hot and sunny :smokin::smokin:

Cheers,
Mike.

congrats!!! Must be nice to have a world champion teach you to fly.. you'll be a world class pilot before you know it!

I know the feeling of no one understanding.. get that from my wife all the time..

Congrats....and now he knows what we know.....the hurri is a great heli

There is nothing better than having a good day at the field.....advancing your skills....getting a compliment.....and bringing home the heli to "fly another day"..

Life doesn;t get any better than that unless your wife is at the door with a
"cold one" and a "twinkle in her eye".....

I would probably say...."i'll be right up, let me just put these lipos on charge first "!!! :cheers

Isn't it great being a guy.....and never having to "grow up" like woman do?

Good job Mike. It sure does feel great when progress is made & things start coming together.

Having these forums are great too. Wouldn't be quite as much fun If you couldn't get on here & talk about your experiences would it?

Cheers
Graeme

Im hoping to get some instruction when I next go back to the UK not until middle of next year though.

I will probably go to Nigel Fraser Kerr when i get the oportunity as he lives quite close to Jungle Bob and is a friend of his.

Very worthwhile IMHO - everytime (this time included) there is always something that I have almost but not quite got the hang of and Paul picks it up very quickly - my rate of improvement is much better with the lessons. Plus on my last lesson I would have killed 8 or 10 helis trying to do my first "race-track circuits" - yesterday none :clappp. But, say, 8 crashes at $50 per crash = lots of money
