Ok I feel really stupid… Is there a way to totally reset a model in a 9Z. I have tried RST all but that still leaves the name and associated conditions. I even tried changing the model type but it still re-associated the conditions I want to remove a model and turn all the conditions back to unused.

Copy an unused model over top of the one you want to reset and it will clear out everything. That shold do it. You can also delete models, trying to remember how I did it. :DOH

The Reset leaves the model name. But everything else is reset back to default. It will also leave the condition name because that is something that the user can put in manually.
Will has a good suggestion. Copy a default model onto the model if you have one that is unused in the radio.

I always change the name of the model back to default manually. It is not a problem. The conditon names I use are the default ones that are in the radio anyway. So they don't change.

The problem was the conditions still showed tied to the model so I could not copy a model to the campac. I overcame the problem by copying the model over the other one I was not using. Thanks for the help.

I don't understand exactly what your saying. I don't see where it would have anything to do with copying a model to the campac.

If your talking about when copying to the campac that it says you must clear some conditions. Then the model in the Campac has to be reset. Not the model that is actually in the transmitter.

Sorry if I was not clear yes that is exactly the problem. I needed to clear a model in the Campac. I did try to copy an unused model to one I wanted to delet but it would not let me select the unused model in the from box. I hate it when I get out smarted by technology. :arggg:

I am really starting to like my 9C :?

Yes when the Campac is full. You have to reset the model in the Campac to make room for more models.
The stock Campac only realistically only holds about 4 helicopter models with the normal setups. The Campac is just like the radio, it only stores so many conditions. If I remember it is 16 conditions. The 9Z has 10 model memory, but it will only store 50 conditions. So if you had 5 helis with 10 conditions each, it would only store 5 helis.

Thanks for clearing that question up David. I have wondered for a long time exactly what I could get away with. Makes sence now, thank you.

Steve,
If you want to clear the 9Z campac completely. Stick the 9Z campac in your 9C campac slot and turn it on. The 9C should tell you incorrect format and ask if you want to continue. Continue and the 9Z campac will reformat. Stick the Campac back in your 9Z and initialize it. The Campac should now be reformatted and no models on it.

Wow that sounds scary.

Not scary at all.
The 9C Campac is 16 K
The 9Z Campac is 64 K.

So when the 64 K Campac is put in the 9C Campac slot and initialized. The 9C knows it is the wrong size Campac and reformats it. Vice versa with the 9C Campac in the 9Z.

Futaba use to have this posted on the website in the Technical section.
