Hi Guy's

I've recently got a Beltcp which im learning to fly. and Somehow i found this site.....

Still getting the hang of getting hovering etc sorted. trying to perserveer but a part in the main rotor assembly broke after falling 1 foot :arggg: only had 4 goes so far.

Anyhow its prompted me to do what most dudes do is go shopping and hope SWBO does not notice increased spending.... :P

Been trawling through here and noticed that there are better and "compatible" parts out there which can be bolted on with little to no modification.

So this is what Im looking at getting. the following...

Head Set

Tail Set

Blades.

Training Gear

Is there anything else i should get as spares. to get me up and running as in what's more than likely going to break being a learner.

Are the above purchases a wise idea? in that the metal stuff is stronger and less likely to break with my clumbsy flying?

Spares are not available locally so i need to order in bulk... ;) Anything i should by extra of for the inevitable crashes.

Next question. Where will you be ordering from, somewhere in USA?

IMHO,

the metal head and tail look fine, and certainly they will fit the Belt
forget the CF blades, cos you WILL crash and stiff blades send the energy somewhere else to dissipate, like the head, feathering shaft, main shaft and main gear!!! So bulk order some Align 315 [or 325] pro woodies, as these are great blades for the price, way better than the Belt woodies, and more cost effective whilst learning.
when you crash, one of the first things to check is the feathering shaft, so have lots of them!!!!!
the flybar rod can also get damaged - trex 220mm is a good one
have a spare main shaft too, the Align carbon steel is an excellent example of this item.
servos - the stock servos are just about adequate, but most of us upgrade to either the towerpro sg90 or hitec55, and keep the pEsky ones as spare [all these fit the same mount/holes]
when the main blades come to a thudding halt, the next item which will get trashed is the main gear wheel. Best upgrade here is the Helimax version, available cheaply at http://www3.omnimodels.com/cgi-bin/woi0001p?&I=HMXE8205&P=7 - get a few of them
when you stove the tail in, you may need a new boom, the stock one is fine
and despite having cf tail rotor blades, the energy of that thing whizzing round will inevitably bend the tail rotor spindle.
a spare belt for the tail rotor is handy
get more >=2100mah batteries [I have 4, still not enough]
tools - a blade balancer, pitch gauge, decent chargerWell I hope this has been useful! Congrats on finding the site. We aim to help and please here - no bull.
Anything you want to ask, someone will help. There is some great knowledge here in the threads and stickies. Some Aces too

All the best,

Mike

Sure,

I have just ordered a new head and tail, blades, batteries, and a training kit.

Interested to see the quality of the new CNC parts.

Thanks,

Will

Welcome to the Forum Will, glad you found us. Mike gave you a pretty good list.

I have a completely stock Belt, and I have one that has all the CNC parts.

The one with the CNC parts is much more steady in the hover and noticeably more responsive. I think it's probably due to all the slop of the stock plastic parts being gone.

Proper setup on the Belts is critical, but watch the videos and be sure and ask if you need help.

I disagree with Mike on one point, there is a lot of Bull here, but only when we're being silly

We're always serious when helping out!

Thanks,

Im keen to get it operational again. The CNC parts look like they are strong and from reading around here look like they are reasonably robust to endure some abuse.. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have the parts ready to go.

Hellhathnofury. Great advice for the newby. Buying aluminum so soon is not a good idea as we all know. Usually ends up wrecking a whole lot more stuff down the line.Plastic may not look as cool but is much more forgiving not to mention cheaper. Parts parts and more parts.:YeaBaby:
