Just got my Hurricane 550 in last week and now waiting for the DX7 to show. Just wanted to say hi and I'm glad I found this forum, a lot of good info here. I'm still deciding on the main batteries and charger, are the truerc batteries any good? I'm leaning toward this TrueRC 4000mAh 22.2V 6S1P pack in brick format but not sure if it would fit under the canopy without modding the battery tray since it's a 6 cells . Too bad they are out of the 3S1P currently.

Hi - which version have you bought - I think that you will struggle to get a single 6S under the canopy on the plastic framed 550 but maybe on the CF one :dontknow:dontknow

if you have the CF framed Hurri, it should fit.. I know I run 2* 3s1p together on the top mount of my CF frame.. and a 6s pack "should" be a bit smaller..

they fit under the CF frame without mod's:

... and they work great!

Out of curiosity, what made you go with the 3700mAh capacity, 6S, 21C, 549g for $122(+shipping) for your Z20 1470 setup?

Don't buy from HobbyCity if the stuff is out of stock, you can wait three eternities and a day before you'll ever see your purchase (if ever!). That - 8 symbol means there are 8 on back order now and they don't have any in stock; and good luck getting any information from HC about this (or anything else for that matter).

If the stuff is in stock, you're all set; if not, either wait or order elsewhere IMHO.

Happy Flying!

if you request that they email you once they get in stock, they'll do it..just have the money set aside and ready to go because they don't stay in stock for long

I got the plastic frame one figuring it'll be good to learn on. Once I get proficient at it then I can "upgrade" to the CF frame one. I got a really good deal on it (short boom, long boom, 3 set of woodies, CF servo arms, extra parts out of the wazoo). The guy never finish building it so basically I'm just completing it. I'm waiting for the rest of the electronics to show up (DX7, 2100T and 3100G for the tail). Still shopping for batteries and a charger/balancer, any suggestion? I'm leaning toward a BC6 for the charger but the batteries choices are really overwhelming... The kit also came with a UBEC already installed with the stock 50 amp ESC, is this a good BEC? I couldn't really find much info on it.

thanks for the heads up, I did check these guys out and their prices are great although most are OOS... So far I think TrueRC has the next best prices but they are also out of the 3S1P... must be a very popular config.

i think that depends on what you buy and when... i got my zippys when they were out of stock and waited 3 weeks... but for the price its not bad :)... once they came into stock i watched them and within 3 days they were out again lol

I've used UnitedHobbies (their other incarnation) a number of times and usually "buy for stock" so don't mind waiting - their prices are worth it

Just got home and found my new DX7 waiting for me woohoo! Now I just need to get some batteries, the gyro and tail servo so I can start getting the heli together. I'm as giddy as a kid on Xmas morning.

I'm going to strip the heli down completely and rebuild it from the ground up while waiting for the rest of the stuff as I have no idea what have Loctite and what do not. The heli is already 90% built but just for my own peace of mind I'm going to rebuild it.
