This isn't strictly Mikado related, but as I'm going to be putting it on a Logo 600 3D VBar, here goes.
In looking at motors, I see that there seem to be two of the Hacker that can be used: the the A50-14S, and the A50-16S. But I'm not sure what the difference between the two are. Both from a literal (size, etc) and performance (battery usage & speed/hp produced) stand point.
Any help appreciated!

The A50-14S is the one you are looking for. I'm running this motor in my 600 with an 18T pinion which yields a headspeed of around 2100 rpm. Since it has a 6mm shaft, 18T is the largest pinion made in a herringbone style. If you were to run this with the A50-16S, you would only achieve a headspeed of 1850 rpm.
The max rpm for both motors is 22,000. Motors, typically, run their strongest at full rpm...
With that in mind:
A50-16S has a KV of 490----------490 x 37V = 18,130
A50-14S has a KV of 550----------550 x 37V = 20,350
Make sense?
It looks as though the A50-16S would be better suited to 12S packs where the motor rpm would be more like 21,750.
BTW, this motor has plenty of power, you should be very happy with it. It tends to run a little on the hot side (160-190 degrees), but a good motor none-the-less.

Yes even though on the mikado website they say 16S the most common is the A50-14S. I personally would go the Z50-780 A version motor. Either 13 or 14T pinion, its cheaper here in aus and uses the 5MM shaft so the counterbearing supplied in the kit will fit.

Yes, it does make sense. Thanks! I do see a 19T mod 7 herringbone pinion as well as the 18T mod 7 and a 17T mod 7. You say I'd want the 18T?

There is no 19T pinion available...you have to look at the ones that say "6mm"

...all the way at the bottom of the page.

Ah! I hadn't noticed that before! What is the size of the other ones? Where they do not specify the mm size?
Thanks much!

The standard HB pinion has a 5mm ID for both 0.5 and 0.7mod. There are only three pinions with 6mm ID listed - 16, 17, 18T. If you you need a different range of pinions (only use mod 0.7 for the L600) you will need to look for a motor with a 5mm shaft or match your battery cell count to the pinion range and motor combo.
