Yesterday was a big day in my learning curve, so I just have to share it with someone who might care - the wife doesnt seem to interested :)
For the first time I ventured out of the back yard, I went to a soccer field about 1 mile from the house.
At first I tried to just hover and pretend it was all the same as normal, then when my nerves were ready, I did a little FF, straight out, then backwards back to me...
all good, I lifted up around 40-50 feet, about 50 feet out from me, bought it back in.
Then I figured, I havent crashed it yet, just a tip over when I first built it, so it was now or never.
I turned the left side to me and input forward cyclic & up on the collective.. off i went..
Flew out about 100-120 feet, banked right, turned the tail and flew back to about 100 feet to my right.
managed another banked turn and came back to the center of the field.
Turned the tail back to me, came in closer and landed nice and soft.
I am so happy, and it was the first time I actually believed that I can do this...
Thanks to all the guys here who have helped along the way, special mention for Finless, Im not sure why he does all the video's, both building & review, but he sure helps a lot of people with some big mysteries of this hobby.
