Hi Everybody,
The general consensus from GOBS of testing the Viper Head with the SX-H, C-SPEC & C-SPEC PS by Shannon, Clint and others and confirmed by James O'Neals indicates that especially on hot days to run CP or Magnum 30% Fuel you generally need .024 in shims to control detonation.
The stock Head C-SPEC and the HYPER Head on the PS need an extra .004 to a few more for optimum running on 30% CP or Magnum.
The testing has been done using CP and Magnum 30% because that is what we can get easily around here and plus we were all sitting on a few cases of one or the other. I have been told that other fuels in 30% would burn approx the same, but testing is advised I have no idea.
Shim your heads people. It takes 20 minutes to pull the average motor and add the shims. You will LOVE the results. :D
