Hey all, I was flying my 200 today and all was well for the first half of the flight. After a while I noticed my tail wasnt holding as good and started to shake violently. I did all I could to maintain control and a couple feet off the ground I hit TH and it went down skids firtst. Good news is there was no damage whatsoever but the tail servo completely seized up, I cant move the servo horn at all. I took the case apart and everything looks good but it smells burnt. Has this happened to anyone and will Futaba do anything?

Yeah I've had one burn out on me. I replaced it with a cheapy spare one I had laying around (don't know the model number, but a cheap futaba), and switched the gyro to analog, and it's been working fine for my skills (just normal and sport flying). I have also another gaui200 with the bigger s3153, and haven't had issues with it, except it being heavy and harder to mount.

I did not contact futaba or try to return it... not worth my time, and I've heard of that happening so was prepared to eat the cost if it did happened. I've also heard that if you switch to analog it will last.

Thanks for the reply. I wish I had known about the analog mode first, those servos arent cheap for what they are. From what Ive seen, your skills are a little more advanced than what you say. Love Swashbot bye the way.

Chinese Weight Mod should help the 3154 users.

Digitals work differently then Analogs, they constantly hunt for center

if linkage to tight it will fight it its whole life span, also if you have allot of slop, it will be constantly be hunting to hold center. this causes them to heat up, because they never rest like a analog. also burn more power. but they are fast .

Check futaba faq's at there site to learn more.
