Hi All,
Well, it's taken awhile, but I'm really starting to like my 500 3D. I think Mercuriell was saying that it takes awhile to get it dialed in, and I guess that's what happened in my case. Here's what it took to get it flying right:
- 5% up elevator mix with right aileron to keep the tail from dropping in consecutive rolls
- 0% elevator mix with left aileron
- 12% up elevator mix with negative pitch to keep her from climbing when inverted
- 65% aileron on the swash
- 65% elevator on the swash
- 60% pitch on the swash
- 40% expo on aileron and elevator (because I do slow and 4 point upright and inverted pirouettes as part of my routine)
- 40% expo on the rudder to soften the stops on the 770 3D gyro
I flew her today and I have to say that she is flying pretty good and is fun to fly. She handles like a sports car and is really fun to watch with the big canopy and short tail boom. I've got some bright colors on her and that really helps too.
She's leaps and bounds better than the Swift that she replaced. And she's almost as good as my 8S 600E. Now that she's dialed in, she's an honest machine that only does what I tell her. And with the herringbone gearset, she is very quiet.
Way to go Mikado!
Keep 'em flying.:YeaBaby:
