so i just got off a 1 1/2 long session of realflight G4. I was busy using the orentation trainer, which is an amazing gauge of your hovering skills. i thought i was good til i tried it. currently im stuck on level 8.
a few tips:
- landing isnt a bad thing when your way out of control, however you should learn to regain control
- fly at the same height that the instructor is, to learn things like simple ground effect.
- dont cheat by landing under the instructor, i dont know why you can even do this but your a big kid now, you dont need to cheat
- the dominion 90 or whatever the heli it is:), is the most twitchy, sloppy tailed helicopter on that sim, beginners will hate that things as much as i do by level 6

hope that helps,
teeson

Not one for the hover trainer. However, when I'm learning a new move, I go into RF and turn the sim speed way down. I do the move over and over till it's perfect. Then I start turning the sim speed up.

Once I get to 100%, I turn it back down and add wind, gusts, and variance. Then I start turning it back up.

u can turn the speed down? cool, i never new that
there is 2 hover trainers, the one where you copy the location/oreintation of your instructor, and the "keep in the circle" version. im using the first on, but both are somewhat helpful.
how do you turn the speed down?

It's called "physics speed" in RF preferences. Same place where you set your graphics. Go in there and look for simulator settings or something to that effect. You'll see weather and physics.
