Since my Robbe starterwand broke down after about 10 years of use(bought it secondhand), its time to buy a new one. There aren't a lot of starter wands with oneway in stock, so I was wondering if I really need one. Also, would this be the time to switch over to the proflex system?

If you're only flying MA ,( and why would you want to fly anything else ) , the proflex is the way to go...

You don't need one but you'll regret not having it. I started my Stratus fine without a one way. You just have to keep the starter going until it's off the clutch stack. Something you can always count on though is the wand flinging off and hitting the first thing it sees. :YeaBaby:
