1. I got this head from xheli.com:
http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-94582326164583_2004_833897
I bent the feathering shaft :(. It's much larger in diameter than the Esky or Trex shafts. Anybody know where I can get a replacement?
2. I've got a few esky stripped servos (EK2-0508). Where can I get gears?
3. Does the drive belt fit anything else (Trex)?
4. Can I get the belt drive gear seperate - or do I have to get a main gear set?
5. How tight should the tail rotor drive belt be?
Comments: This heli flys nice when it's working right -- but seems pretty maintenance prone. The belt and drive gear are worn out after only several hours flying - caused one altercation; trashing new carbon blades, main shaft, feathering shaft and servos. The belt idler roller in the tail is a joke with no bearing. I replaced the roller with a main shaft bearing from a eflight blade cp. BTW - the blade cp servos fit too. The esky servos say digital but I wonder if they actually are for $10? Anyway they strip gears at the blink of an eye! I appreciate any responses to my Q's --
Thanks!

I feel your pain.Yes you can get the drive gear separately.I wouldn't bother with servo gear sets you will have to buy lots just to keep up. Try some better servos. This helped me out the most.Great idea on the idler I'll have to try that. You should not be able to push the belt much past 3/4 of the boom dia as a good starting point if you get my meaning. As for your other questions I'm not sure. The other guys here should be able to help you out.

what do you mean its much larger diameter, its supposed to be 3mm diameter feathering shaft.
Did you take it out or are you judging its diameter from the bushing thats between the grip and the central holder.

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum:thumbup:
What size is the feathering shaft?
Dont bother with Esky servo's they are not very good, a popular cheap alternative is theTowerpro SG90.
I use Trex 450 belt with the standard Esky tail pinion and a copter X tail The esky drive belt didn't work very well but the align one seems ok with the Esky pinion.
The belt should be loose enough to slip a gear ir you hod the tail and turn the head.
Tail pinions are available separately. the ealsiest way to fit them is to take out the rear screws that hold the frame together so you can separate the 2 halves of the frame enough to replace the whole pinion and shaft with its bearings.
It is a good thing to have a spare main gear around though as they get stripped fairly easily.
Blade 400 and Helimax main gears also fit the belt without modification
All the best Ian:)

Here's some interesting info. I visited the local shop and picked up some parts that would (hopefully) fit. The Eflight 400 belt drive gear is a direct replacement for the Belt CP -- just pull it off the shaft. The Eflight 400 belt is a direct fit too - PROBABLY the same as the Trex. The Eflight 400 tail rotor drive gear with shaft will work - but you do have to trim the base gear rim a bit to get proper spacing. Stock (cheap) rotor blades are hard to find in stock these days and I'm getting tired of shelling out $25 a pop for carbon blades. The Eflight 400 blades fit the STOCK grips for the Belt CP - although they are too thick for the Trex grips found on CNC Belt CP heads. The blades will fit the Trex size grips if you remove the plastic covers - but I'm not so sure that this is a great idea as the covers provide strength. Anybody (desides me) tried this???
I also replaced the stupid belt roller with at pair of bearings from an Eflight blade cp main shaft. They seem to work great - just like the Trex set-up.
On to my feathering shaft woes -- Here's a picture of the shaft next to a stock Trex shaft. If the Trex shaft is 3mm then this one looks to be 4mm

This looks like the right shaft - it's a Trex 450V2 shaft - makes sense for an aftermarket head:

The head you have is a V2 head, yes so you need to buy Trex Version 2 feathering shaft.
AS for the other things you mentioned yes many know this and its all listed in the Stickies above.
