Hey all,
In the attached pic, you can see that within walking distance from me there are a number of football fields, soccer pitch's and baseball diamonds where (aside from this evening) there tends to be not a whole tonne of action. There's no club, actual flying field, or better place than right out my doorstep to practice my skills in real life rather than the sim. Last summer I spent a lot of time on the rubber track in the evenings learning hover orientations, and miniature circuits with my CP2. Thing is, I kept the circuits small, 'cuz there I seemed to be having a LOT of what seemed to be interference and general funky stuff happening when I wasn't particularly doing it (and it wasn't the wind either).
Now that I'm about to maiden my Hurri550, I'm a little anxious. It's a significantly larger bird, and I'm thinking about the field to the right of the track.
My question is this, has anyone found interference 'pockets' or something of the like
around football uprights in particular? All these areas are fenced too, so I'm curious as to how solid the FM channel is.
I'm just getting back into RC (was into nitro planks years ago), and for 'old habbit' went with a Futaba9C, and am hesitant to invest all over again in all 2.4 gear.
EDIT: ok, so now that I look a 2nd time at that pic, you can't really see all the fields, there's 6 Baseball diamonds, 3 football fields, and 6 soccer fields *(some behind school)... i guess that's kinda besides the point though...
