if it works, and i think it will,
you may consider some lead weights in form of washers this wouldn't look that funny.
maybe a fishing equipment store has them locally.
i found these on a quick search

just tested it today. flew 10 packs and it works perfect great. had to turn my gain down a little, piro rate is faster, stoping power is better, it performs better than my stock tail, and my micro heli tail. :nanabobo

What did you use to place the balls on the grips. I sent a PM to Fireup to see if he could make a Chinese Wt. Mod jig for the Gaui like the one he's made for the Trex 450. He replied that the tail was so small he didn't know if it would work. So, maybe your method will work. The weights on the 450 tail seems to take some of the work off the tail servo.

Great to hear you've got good results with this!
The effect you're after is that when the tail rotors move out of plane in either a left or right direction, that part of the blade not on the pitch axis moves closer to the center of rotation.
(think swinging a bucket of water around, then pulling it closer to you.)
This requires more energy, which works the pitch mechanism, and to a lesser degree, the drivetrain, more.
The "Chinese", or "Flyweights", are 90d out of plane with the flat of the grips, so they basically pull back when the blade pitches.
The tough part is figuring out the weight needed, Let us know how it goes and what parts you use. If you've got a gram scale it would nice to know how much weight works best.

(i was gonna ask fireup too but i figured he would say just that. so i just came up with this, it does help with the gaui tail, it was able to give me a faster more consistant piro rate really fast for a heli this size:YeaBaby: and also my tail stops on the dot!! i was still getting a little kick on full collective moves, but then figured out that any little off tracking by the mains is what was causing it, so i balanced my blades, and got my tracking dead on and the tail was almost dead on, kinda felt like flying a 450. now the only thing i was lacking was good HS, my bats where kinda week. i will post up some pics of how i did the tailwheight mod thingy in a bit.))

the tail weight mod that i did is not the greatest, there could be danger so if any of you freaks want to try this out go ahead but do it at your own risk and if something happens to your heli your SOL :)
first i got together 4 balls, 4 links, and 2 of my 15mm linkage rods, and some good CA
51481
then i filed down the standoffs on the balls like finless did in the trex 450 vids. after that was done i treaded the linkage rod thru the grip and tail blade and used red locktite just to be super safe.
51481
after i made sure both ends of the rod were the same length i put on the balls
51482
now i used the links to secure the balls in place cuz thats all i had and i would spend days looking for a nut and bolt that would fit. i threaded the links first to get an impression in the links, then i used a toothpick and worked some CA in the link and on the threads of the rod
51483
snipped off the ends and added a little more CA to end that was cut. then go fly that lil sumbeotch!!:Bang
51485
thats it, its nothing fancy, it works for me, i had over 30 flights 3d with this mod and didnt give me any problems, for all that wants to try it i hope it works for you as it does for me, good luck.
