Lets just make this thread interesting.
I have £20.
Here is my belt specs:
Plastic belt cp (No DTS mod)
sg90's.
stock gyro
dx6i + ar6200
What else could I buy to improve it? I was thinking of a UBEC or something?

BEC is not really needed for SG90 servos.
I know everyone will jump on this but esky HH gyro is perfectly fine they have a new one out even with remote gain... Up to you.
i would save that money and pick up a copter X or Sonix head, but thats just me.
Just make sure you buy the essentials...
Extra Booms
Extra Main Gears
Extra Feathering Shafts
Extra Blades
Extra Main shafts.

ok:P... I remember Ian mentioned something about servo brackets that fit onto the belt cp frame. I think he said they were mini titan ones:S?
Seeing as I didn't want to cut away at the frame I thought that these might be the better option for me.
Anoyone got any info on these?
Cheers,
Jonny

Johnny
Congrats on finishing your GCSE's, my daughter finished hers today too.
The mini titan brackets I got from midland helicopters

PV0718 : SERVO TRAYS - MINI TITAN £2.49 the pair
Easy fit but you need to drill another hole for a solid fit.

Did your daughter have a geography exam today/yesterday (00:21)

Yes Jonny, part of her AS geography. Those brackets work very well, and I drilled an extra hole to make the mount sturdier. The sg90/91 fit easily.

Those look nice, but will I need to move the canopy mounts or anything?
So your daughter is 16 right?;)

Apart from the extra holes to put the mounting screws through, there is no need to make any alterations. The original holes for the canopy fixing bar can still be used, and as I use a Trex canopy cos of the battery location, I also have the mounting lugs, which do not get in the way.
Yes, my daughter will be 17 in Sep just after she starts college, and my son is 14.

Also, like Wolfie said, one of if not THE biggest difference maker on a copter is the rotor head. Bling it up as much as you want, but that's largely cosmetic. I could not believe just how well my copter flew when I swapped the crap pEsky CNC for a copterx head, just an incredible difference. I got mine from Ehirobo in Hong Kong for under £40 delivered.

A decent shaft - the Align carbon steel - is another good upgrade, although the one which comes with the copterx head is a good one.

Thanks Mike. Soo, I will probably buy those mini titan servo brackets out of my £20 lol. And then I will save up for a copter x head :P
Your daughter must be one of the oldest in her year then? I am quite young for my year:( I will be 16 in july lol.

Best thing you could buy Jonny if you havent already got them is Gorilla Paddles/Landing gear. The paddles made a huge difference to me. Stability was significantly improved.
Congrats on your exams. I hated school. Collage ruled and Uni was not bad too:smokin: I spent most my collage days strapped to an E reg Fiesta roof with rope:YeaBaby: venturing everywhere but my lessons.

Cheers Andy lol..
Yeah, I got the gorilla landing skids but I don't have the paddles.
So, so far. With £20 I can get:
1. Mini titan servo brackets.
2.Gorilla paddles.
Thats probably about £15 inc. postage? Or are the paddles expensive?

If you get a Trex flybar (Eg the stainless steel one) You will have to drill the 2 arms that the flybar goes through to make the hole slightly bigger. It only needs a very small amount taken off and its easy to do. Just thought I would remind you:)
