I bought a Combat Wing kit from the LHS after checking out the site and videos. Looks like its gonna be a fun park flyer while I wait for my rex Batteries to charge.

The build looks like its gonna be fairly easy, however the battery compartment is too small to hold the FP 3c 2170 packs that I have. Any recomendations for a good lipo setup? Should I just hack away at the foam. I have a Eflite brushless setup for it and Im not looking for blistering speeds but a decent speed and long flights would be ideal.

Comments, advice, and recommendations welcome! Thanks freaks!

Hello there.
I have built many CombatWings for friends, but I have never built one with a LiPo set up.... all the ones I did build eventually aquired a lipo set up and flew great. It will not take much to addapt a lipo to the battery bay.
The Combatwings fly so much better than that other company,,,,,,,,,, ZA*I.
The only CombatWing I personally own is the XL Slope Soaring wing. I love that Wing. Many hours of fighting combat with that one.

Well, have a good one.

I had a combat wings XE2, a awesome flyer, I never did a lipo setup, but had a Mega 16 15 4 on 8cell NIMH, it would do 100+mph and the toughest thing I ever saw. for my setup I could have easily dropped in a 3cell lipo, you will likely need a 35-45amp esc, I had a CC35 in mine. follow the directions and you won't have any problems, you don't need much spray adhesive but you do need it! just a very light coat. also while you are building I HIGHLY recomend setting it up for night flight NOW!!!! what I did was picked up 2 high intensity LED lights from ebay made for r/c cars, they came in aluminum tubes, and mounted them in the leading edge of the wing about 10 inches from center, then I imbedded 2 Glow stick connectors in the wingtips so I could plug glow sticks in the wingtips, just one half mooned, plug both ends in. I also found it worked great to take 2 glow sticks and cut the ends off, make them about 6 inches long and wash them out, these fit perfectly into the ends of the lights so they glowed very well, looked like a starwars star fighter at night. the high intensity LED's plug right into your RX so no extra battereis needed. this added only grams to the final weight and when not in use just remove the glow sticks.
