The larger helis definitely fly better than the smaller ones.
But it comes down to how much you have to spend on parts and such.
The larger helis are also more expensive in all aspects than the smaller ones.
Good choice on getting a radio and simulator first to get started.
Also welcome to the forum.

Personal recommendation: Get the standard 50v2 (not the SE one), and spend the rest on fuel. For a beginner that's a better deal.

I love the raptor 50 I fly 2 of them and have built 4 others for friends as beginner helis. You can't go wrong with them. Alam

Svein is right. Go for the Standard Raptor 50 V2. You WILL crash while learning and those metal head parts are more expensive to replace when they are damaged. Wait until you are very comfortable and competent with your flying before spending the money for those upgrades. That way you will only buy them once and not over and over again.
The Raptor 50 V2 is a very good machine to learn on. It is very stable and 3D capable for when you are ready for that and parts are still cheap to replace when they are damaged. I would go with the OS 50 Hyper or the 50 SX-H engine. Either would be a good choice.
Good luck.
