I have read alot about Gaui's older version motor having problems.......How does the new 1100 kv motor compare.......

from what I've read so far it's around the same as a Z30 1100 Kv motor, but the gaui motor draws more amps and generates more heat than the Z30 1100 KV.

I have the new gaui motor and so far I don't think I like it very much, it seems to get very very hot after just one flight on it (can't hold finger on it for long ) and I don't even do a lot of 3d.

I don't know what is meant by new or old but the only thing Gaui changed was the weak version (850kV - 890kV).
You can cool the Gaui motor by changing your gearing but it will never run as cool as a Z30. Get a Z30 and you'll have much more performance (but you have to change gearing, a Z30 will destroy a 42T gear), longer or at least equal flight time and a cool motor. Another option, as powerful as a 1,5kW Gaui would be a 1600kV Scoprion. Works quit well and 20% - 30% more flight time with the same power... another Esc also helps bringen temperature down. My Scoprion run much cooler with an 80A Jazz than with a Gaui Esc...

Worldofmaya - what gearing are you using with Z30 ? I am using stock (550Pro) and have no problem with hovering, but want to go further soon, so any advice is valuable.

Sorry for hijacking...

I haven't used my Z30 by now, I'm using a Scorpion 1600kV which works quit well! Doesn't have as much power but longer flight times.
Another pilot here shaved all of the teeth off of his 42T (he used a 12T motor pinion) in his first flight. He now uses a 50T front and 16T motor pinion. Motor pinion depends on your head speed and batteries. I'm using A123 so my motor pinion will be a little bit different.
You shouldn't have problems when hovering but take care if you're using full-pitch to stop you Hurri. A Z30 has a lot more torque than the other motors...
