Dear all,

If you fly RC helicopters in the UAE please introduce yourself, tell us what you fly, and where...

I am George, and I'm very new to the hobby, but there are a lot of great pilots here in Dubai that help me out a lot.

Below are a few pics of this morning (June 13, 2008) Tareq, Paul, Peter, ....

Here in the US, no flying within 3 miles of an airport unless you get special permission. In any event, nicely manicured lawn.

Actually as I remember it was 5 miles of an airport in Chicago... I might be wrong... but there are no laws in that regard here :)

...and your snow skis. (Isn't Dubai where they have the indoor ski slope?)

i remember many a nights at the Irish Village in my few visits to Dubai and Abu Dhabi! I always keep my eyes peeled for helicopter maintenance positions over there. Maybe one day I'll have a job offer I like!

Not to get technical, but the actual FAA rule is no flying ABOVE 500feet within 3 miles of an airport. I would know, I actually fly 1000 feet off the end of Vance AFB, OK where I am also an instructor pilot in the Air Force. So I actually fly my heli's right on the airport, just below 500".
