It looks like to me that most of the invasions are at blacksheep. What about going somewhere else. How come the guys in birmingham do not have one or chatti? I thought that was the whole point of it.

The Bigest reason I have not organized an Invasion in those places is because I am gone to events all the time. In the off-season weather dictates where I fly as I am not traveling out of good weather into bad weather. I am in the process of organizing an invasion with the Pres of the Huntsville club. The guys from Huntsville have been going to events all year and there are only a few events left this year and after that we are organizing some type of an Invasion in Huntsville. We have talked about doing a school for a day and then having an Invasion on another day. Once the schedules are final we will surely post them.
When I started the Invasions, the had a definate format. As things have evolved or what ever one would call it..........the numbers have grown at an excellerated rate. I had an INVASION @ Hodges Hobbies as often as my schedule and Mac's would permit. The first Invasion yielded about 15 piolots and I have seen as many as 75 at some others. The idea of an invasion is to have a couple of hours of setup and more one on one talking with fellow pilots which usually consist of several sponsored pilots who volunteer their time to help others. There usually is no landing fee but we like to donate money to the club who has alllowed us to us their facillity as often they fly both Helis and plans at some sites.
I guess we have so many Invasions @ Blacksheep because of participation in that area both local and guys traveling. We also take our families with us and we like the Blacksheep club and their facility. Wayne and the guys are some really top quality guys.
We have had invasions all over the place but we never schedule an Invasion to conflict with events. I personally like to try and recipricate travelling to events by which I mean you come to mine I will come to yours. Ircha SE is coming up and there will be a ton of knowledge there and I suggest to anyone who can make the event should try and go.
I have a question for everyone reading this post..........How far would you and do you travel regularly to fly with friends and new friends? For exampple I live around 4 hrs from Blacksheep and I try to go there as often as I can, I also try to get to Hodges Hobbies in Americas GA. I would like to see more of the clubs flying together and communicating. This is what would get the spirit of Invasions going in the areas that are not currently having Invasions. I have had people call and want to have an Invasion and tell me there is no one flying within 100 miles of them. Upon asking them how far they travel or how many events they have gone to this year they reply no events and that they have just been flying around their club. If there is no one within 100 miles flying then that means everyone going there for an Invasion will have to travel 100 miles or more............it is just easier to have the Invasions in the more concentrated areas for example Blacksheep as it draws the guys from VA, MA, GA , SC, NC, FL , TN and AL.
I go to Chatti a few times a year .........Charles and the guys fly there regularly but they travel to alot of events. As far as an invasion in Chatti I would recomend contacting CHARLES and BHam I would contact David H. After Ircha SE you will probably see Invasions all over again.

PS- I went to BS today and flew with HC WAyne and the guys.....yep 4 hrs. took Cason with me and had a great Day.

That plan is what I have been wanting to hear. All of my local guys I fly with are doing somthing else or just plain quit. I try to drive down to tupelo and fly with those guys to. I JUST WANT TO FLY WITH PEOPLE THAT FLY HELICOPTERS. I am trying to get down right serious with this heli thing. Its truly something that I really do enjoy and if gas was not so high I would definatly be at blacksheep IRCHA SE, and ATL. Well maybe when my wife goes back to teaching I will have more time. Well my rant is over see you in another forum. PS the class thing at the invasions is a good idea. Also how do you become a member of the clintstone fan club?

nope..don't want to talk trash! I don't think Beast and I win that award...there are a few others out there that drive just as far and as often as Beast and I...I am glad that Beast has the ability to take off just about anytime I say "let's go!"...only way I can afford it...going to suck if I retire from or go back to the "real" Navy...this past 3 years has been such a sleezy job...I hardly believe they pay me to do this!

Just a couple more this year...IRCHA SE, Mulberry...then sounds like you plan on having a Invasion in Huntsville...I am sure Beast and I will be there! But next year I think we are going to have to pick and choose a little bit better...I do want to do both Las Vegas and the St George, UT event in Feb and April...to start the year off...well of course your B-day bash also!
