Just wondering what the Bergen family will have on display or for sale at the IRCHA event this year? Would there be any RTF Gassers there?

RTF? Probably not.

We are putting together Gasser kits and Tazer kits, and will be giving away a Built Tazer with New Motor, CC HV110 ESC, batteries and a painted canopy from Canopy FX.

We will have our usual Industrial Machines on display and flying, and of course my personal favorite, the Turbine!!! If you have a waiver, and would like to try it for yourself, come on up during our hour at Center stage each day.

Thanks for the prompt reply Chris.....probably pick one up before then. Can't seem to decide on the Gasser or the EB Gasser.

need to figure out the pro's and con's of each version.

Terry,

Just finished an EB and will be shooting some video of some break in flying tomorrow and hope to have it up later.

The only drawbacks on the EB over standard that I can see are the costs of the 810mm V Blades versus 710's and the need to add some weight in the nose to counter that extended boom.

But -

The power of that G26 power plant spinning that large disk is awesome and to me personally is more exciting than the smaller bird.

I will get some video up and you be the judge ...

Thanks Ron I'll be looking forward to the video's. I was a little surprised at the price increase in the V blades. What makes that extra 100mm so darn much more in price???? I'm still fairly new at this and$250-$300.00 for blades makes me shudder a bit. Then again NHP's are not that much.....$130 ish
Are you able to UPGRADE to the EB later on if I buy the smaller version first? Wacking $100.00 blades seems more reasonable to me. Having said that I really really like the size of the EB.

PS do you know of any Bergen reps heading up to the T.Dot Smack 2008 on July 18th in Toronto?

Chris what would those kits consist of.......trying to figure out a good set up for the Heli.
Servo's Gyro's ect. Pipe

Just your basic kits.

No main Blades, no radio gear. We should have main blades for sale there also.

V-Blades 810mm $250.00
NHP 800 mm $130.00
V-Blades 690's -710's $125.00

Subject to change of course...:)

Yeah, you can upgrade later on. New battery tray and boom/TT, if I remember correctly.
I almost wish I'd have started that way to save some blades but I really didn't crash it much because of my flying. They are so big, stable and smooth that they're almost easy to fly.

Thanks Mark.....I guess it's not so much of an issue now that I've seen the price on the NHP Blades @ $130.00

I can always get the better blades later on. I think my instructor is using the NHP 710's on his ERGO Gasser. He doesn't seem to mind them at all. My question would be, what is the difference between the two blades, is there a noticeable difference in flight characteristics? Possibly with Auto's I would imagine, and potentially more POP! from the V-Blades.......I'm guessing here.

I was reading a thread on the types of servo's being used on the EB but can't seem to find the thread. I'm going to try the search function again but if anyone knows of that thread and could link me to it, that would be great.

When I got my EB, Greg talked me into going with the V's just for the reasons you've noted. Still, I can't help but wonder how much better it could really auto vs the NHPs. You almost need an anchor to get it back down, as it is.;)

Very Very Very COOL! Thankyou very much for posting the pictures and Video Ron.
May I ask what servos and gyro you are using in your EB?

I am using the JR 770 3D Gyro with the 8900 servo -

Futaba 9252 servos everywhere else -

9100 dual power 2.4 receiver

9252's on everything but tail. 9254/401 on the tail. I mostly use this for AP but wouldn't recommend it for much more than this. It just doesn't hold well.

As soon as I have some spares, I'm going to try out a ds760/8900G on my other gasser.

I've got 8311"s on my Skippy and was thinking of a Futaba 611 for better holding power. With everyone jumping on the Spartan I'm thinking deals may be had with the 611 Gyro's. Chris seems to push the 8311's on the Bergen site and I'm wondering if it's because it"s tried and true or he wants to get rid of stock.;) I can't remember off the top of my head if the 8900 will work with the 611 or will it have a hissy fit and won't play nice.

I don't carry stock of radio gear, so it must be that I like 'em!! :)

It is NOT recommended to mix JR and Futaba equipment when it comes to gyros and servos. IOW, do NOT use a Futaba Gyro and a JR tail servo, and vice versa.

Ditto on Chris's comment

The GY611 is and was designed for the 9256.

The JR 770 will run many as the Spartan but the 770 w/ 8900 is an awesome pair.

Thanks for your info Ron I can't disagree as I have the 770 with the 8900 on my Skippy My instructor has all except the Spartan and he seems to favor the 611 over the 770 ( he also helped set up my 770) I guess thats why I'm now leaning towards the 611. The way locals are telling me it's that Futaba makes an awsome Gyro but JR makes better servos and that you can"t do everything great. The Gyro's Futaba makes are throw offs of their more sofisticated Gyro's used in the mining equipment they make, therefore their R&D in Gyro's is greater than JR. Now having said that......along comes Spartan. What's their story?

Chris- I kinda figured that was the case.:YeaBaby:

I am running the futaba g155 gyro with a jr 537 on my 3d 90 ,now that is a setup that holds rather well

He's pulling your leg...:) While it is certainly flying the heli, I'm not sure of the "holding ability" of a G155 Gyro and 537 servo....:):)

does make for a interesting flight,I only own two 401 gyros which are on my observers, the rest are all mechanical
