Since putting the DSP 60 servo on after frying my 3154, Ive had to turn my gain settings down quite a bit.
Im using a 401 and my TC is 90 flat in Idle 1 and 100 flat in Idle 2. My tail was solid with the 3154 and a gain of 37% travel adjust in HH.
Now with the DSP 60 it holds descent in idle 1 but shakes violently in idle 2. I had to knock the gain down to 25% just to achieve this.
Do I need to move the ball on the horn in or out to raise the gain or is this servo just not up to the task. I should also mention that I was running the 3154 in digital mode on the 401 and analog with the DSP 60. Can this servo be run in digital mode? Its barely warm after flying 4 1/2 min. of aggressive sport flying. The tail is holding descent but not the locked in feel the 3154 had but I dont want to fry another servo.

are you using a carbon rod for the linkage? if not, i'd recommend it. even the gaui linkage with the support in the middle is sub standard.

I am using the Gaui rudder linkage. I have no flex at all in the rod. Thanks for the reply.

if you have to turn down gain that much I would try a hole closer to servo .
37 % and 25 % gain ? did i read that rigght, wow. thats pretty low gain. must fly like a old Kalt or Schluter with a old Ball bearing type gryo

Did you use the programer? If so what setting?

Can this servo be run in digital mode?

Sice it is a digital servo, I am using the DSP60 with my gyro (GU-210) in digital mode and it is working fine. I am also using the stock Gaui steel tail pushrod with the support.

I have not had a chance to tinker with it yet. My 3154 was a digital servo also and I was running it in DS mode on the 401 and it fried. Crabfu said that they tend las longer in analog mode, thats why I was asking about running the DSP 60 in digital. I am also using a X9303 tx so Im using endpoints on gear channel instead of the gyro menu for gain and noticed that when I do this my gains tend to be quite a bit lower than the percentages in the gyro menus but I dont think I should be as low as I am right now. (25%) I think I will move the ball in one hole and maybe try switching back to DS mode on the gyro. Thanks for the feedback.
