A quick question:

I have the TT wood blades and want to know whether you are supposed to peel off the plastic wrapping that looks shrink wrapped to the blades?

Thats what I thought. I dont really want to use them anyway, I will be putting carbons on eventually.

Thanks for the reply.

I use the TT Wood blades . I take the plastic covering off and use MonoKote Trim covering on them . It is a sticky back covering that is 6" wide , 36" long sheet. I seal the the blade tips and roots with thin CA . then paint . I have had some blade strikes , and the blades never came apart where the covering was at . I never like the cheesy cover that came from TT.

Yup...keep 'em covered. You don't want fuel soaked, soggy rotors. Don't forget to epoxy the roots on! That's the only place that the covering should be cut off.

Monocote, good idea. Yeah I agree, I didnt like the covering that came with the blades. It looks pretty tacky. As forjer said its obviously there to protect the blades from liquids etc..

I may try the monocote idea but I will most likely be using Radix blades andways. I use them for my Trex600 and they are awesome.

Thanks for the help guys.

it works really well . I got the idea from watching the Ray's Athoritative DVD's . Those 6 dvd's are worth the money to a new Heli pilot just starting . The information in the dvd'swas alot of help setting my Raptor 30 up , thats what got me in the air faster , and with alot less mishaps . Heres a better pic of one set I did with the monokote .
