If it came through us, you have the 12 turn motor, use the 95 tooth main gear and 10 tooth pinion.

I think it is the 12 turn motor. How can i tell? I have the 95 tooth gear and a 10T pinion now. i bought it used and it flew great. but every since i crashed and put it back together i can't keep the head speed up. When i flip i loose head speed even when i make a turn the head speed dies on me. i have to go into a hover to get it back. i have new packs with about 8 flights on them. was hoping i had the gearing wrong. oh well back to the drawing board.
thanks for the replies

Your simptoms are indicative of severe voltage depression under load. I'd run a couple of cycles on those packs, check all your electrical connections and take a good close look at the windings on the stator of that motor.
Perhaps you have something binding, touch the bearing blocks around the motor shaft, main shaft and the motor itself after just a minute or two of hovering, are they hot?
What kind of throttle curve do you have in your radio?

during the crash ? was the motor at full speed? and like Chris said , check those plugs and connections, resolder them just to be on the safe side , and yes make sure there isnt a tight gear mesh.
is the LRK use the same Outrunner kit as the actro airplane version motor ? if so I will have a new 32-3 up for grabs soon

i have both a set of tanics and TP prolites and both have the same problems so i hopefully don't think it is the packs. Took motor out and resoldered all connections motor seemed fine when out of heli. i will hover and check bearings. I tried diferent throttle curves but right now i am 100 90 100. The motor was full throttle during crash. gear mesh seems fine.

My guess is it is eihter youre Esc or the motor as i have had a Esc act the same exact way is it the Hacker 77-0-H? do you have another one to try?

N/P the funny part is when i built my second Ion wiht the stock hacker motor i didnt care for teh set up so i did a lrk motor and i still favored the actro set up so i put a actro 32-3 in my second Ion and made it identicall to the first one and it still didnt fly right it had no pwer when you would load it hard so i switched the Esc and Boom problem solved

well thinking maybe the motor is going bad. seems to be losing more power now even with new esc installed. Guess it is time for a new motor. need more power
thanks
