Hey guys,
I'm having a hard time coming by some decent lipos at reasonable prices. I can get some 6s 2200mah lipos and was thinking of running two of them in parallell to get 4400mah.
Will the standard 50A Gaui esc be strong enough to handle this?

With two 6s in parrallel the ESC will see the same voltage so it will have no problems with that pack configuration.
What has the biggest effect on the ESC is the size and type of motor you have.
However with a big 12cell pack like that you are adding quite a bit of weight wich will make the motor work harder wich will then have an effect on the ESC.
Roughly how much does that 6s2p flight pack weigh?
If its within the weight of say a 6s 3500-4100 pack you should be OK
I often run 6s 4100 packs although a bit heavy the motor and ESC cope fine

Sorry not to be able to help - but what is the advantage of running the two packs in parallel rather than just using one, then using the other when the first is done - I would have thought that the extra weight would have caused problems

Good point mike
you then get two shorter flights rather than one long one with a heavy heli

It depends on the C rating of the pack.....if it's under 20 c it might not hack the load..but when you parralell them to a 6s2p then each lipo takes HALF the load and it would work better than a single pack.
But if the packs are 20c or better....than I agree and the extra weight might not be worth the effort. I can safely only get 4 min of fairly agressive flying on my 2200 hextronics. When I first began i could get 5 -6 maybe even 7 minute of gentle flying with a reduced headspeed.
4:45 am here....need to get back to bed....just finished charging the last of my 6 sets of packs after a little Fathers Day flying...

I'll see when I get them what flight time I get out of a single pack and decide from there. The idea os the 6s2p is purely to get more flight time really, though an extra landing to swap lipos won't be so bad.
