I`m using the Futaba GV-1 governor on a 3 position switch. ( gov off/ 1800rpm/1950rpm)
I usually spool up and once reved up, I hit -idle up-. Then I switch the gov on.

The manual says: "to allow the GV-1 to work to work correctly, the throttle curve must be linear" this means 0-25-50-75-100. but my throttle curve in idle up is 100-85-65-85-100.

My problem is with the Gov`s fail safe mode
I dont like it because if the gov enters failsafe mode, the -idle up- throttle curve takes over..........if I`m inverted with a 0-25-50-75-100 curve this means trouble.

So how do you guys use it ? idle up or linear?

Thanks

I've ignored that part of the instructions and used throttle curves that work. If the GV-1 has some feed-forward from the throttle channel, good curves should actually help.

I've always left the gov on in all flight modes, and set the StSw parameter so that the gov automatically turns off at low (~15%) throttle for the Failsafe, Throttle Hold, and the low end of the Normal Mode throttle curve. Just remember to flip out of Normal before flipping inverted...:arggg:

Used GV-1 govs for years setup this way, and do the same with the MultiGov.
