Can the regulator withstand the power required to run the electronics in a 90 size heli? Mild 3D or even Hard 3D?

Has anyone tried it?

Thanks

I dont see why NOT! Heck I am going to put one of the new Align gyros in my R90.. bottom line they got good stuff "RUN IT"

I guess it depends what servos you are going to use.... If you use 8717s, 8900Gs and all, I think the regulator might not give enough juice.

check this:

Ok this is about the Castle BEC, however the information given about servo current draw is good for any other BEC or regulator. Don't forget a high performance tail servo will draw more current than a standard servo..... So if you use "normal" servos, you should be ok. If you use high performance servos, you might be in trouble because I think the Align regulator is rated for 6 amps continuous maximum.

maybe CC shouldn't label their 10 AMP PEAK bec, when it can only handle 5 amps.

They are using them on the T-Rex 700 Prototypes.

There should be no reason that you can't.

Further info, am running Hitec 5955TG on the pitch control,6985 on both cyclic and 625 on throttle. How do you calculate the amp draw for the total power used in a heli?

Some ppl did warned abt the regulator being underpowered under certain load/manuevers i.e. Tick Tock.

Is it true? Thanks

I am having some serious PCM lockouts on 72mhz with Align 2-1 regulators. I installed on all 5 ships on my fleet, and threw down the Raptor 50's 3 times in 5 flights due to lockout. I grounded the R90 fleet until I can figure out why.
I went from 4 cell NiMH and hundreds of flights without incident to 3 hard lockouts on 2 different birds in a few flights when I went Align regulator.

That is some serious problems you have there!

Which version are using on all your fleet? What abt the Lipo? Mine is still the version 1, old headsink and shrink wrap on/off switch. But i don't use Align battery on my system. I checked the manual, it says continous 6 amp.

I was curious why did they updated the headsink and on/off switch so fast??? Problems? Actually i have been using it for more than 6 months with no problem, but recently i was told to watch out for the power it drains on my heli. Am using 2100 mah Lipo with 20C and fly 8 flight per charge max!

I am running the align 2 in 1 in my Raptor 60 without problem. I am running all hitec servos. 5945mg on collective, 5925's on ail and elev, and 5975 on throttle. I have over 35 flights and no problems. I really like the 2 in 1 and think you will be just fine with it on your 90

I am running the latest Regulator.

I am running a 2600 Lithium ION from Fromeco.

I also cut the Align battery connector off and put on a Deans connector.

I have been flying it on a Raptor 50 with a GY611 and 9451's on cyclics and 9351 on Collective 9451 on throttle. Also using a CSM Revlock Governor.

No issues to date. I am not flying any hard 3D. But have -13 +13 on the G-Force head, pulling hard tight flips, some tic tocs, rainbows and funnels. I have about 6 gallons of fuel through the machine with that reg (72 flights).
