So, I'm setting up a 200 (1 of 2 actually), and need a little help.

1) Came with a 15T pinion and a zpower 300GT brushless motor. The pinion has a flange. If I put the pinion, flange down the top of the pinion, rubs the belt. If I reverse it, it seems to clear with no problem. Just wondering if others cut the flange off?

2) The connector on the battery (power) is that JST type M/F?

3) Phoenix 25 ESC what are the recommended settings?

4) Canopy standoff that I see in so many pictures, where do I get those?

Ok, answered one of my questions the connectors are JST.

I took it up about a foot off the ground, just to see how it was. Tail held pretty good but, the heli itself is very twitchy even will +25% EXPO on a DX7.

I went back to the bench to verify all the Phoenix 25 settings and now the heli seems like it's only getting half power. I'm going to charge the battery and have another go, but I think I screwed something up in the ESC settings. Any ideas?

I'll give some of this a shot...

I'm not familiar with the flange, none on my pinion, but seriousl doubt you'll have problems reversing it, or, if you have the technology, machine it off.

On the ESC you'll need to go to the manufacture's website and get the documentation. Most are set by manipulating the TX sticks according to tones made by the motor!!, no kidding.

As far as twitchy goes, my 200 is as stable as my 450. Check for tightness in the head and flybar links. Check the blade tracking. Make sure you're running the recomended flybard weights at first.

I got my (improved, Align-type) canopy standoffs from RediHeli for about $1.95.

Sounds like you got a Z motor with yours out of the box, is this a torque tube model, where'd you get it??

For the ESC any idea what the Throttle type should be?

Auto Calibrating throttle
Fixed throttle
Governor Mode Low RPM
Governor Mode High RPM

Buzz,

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I've been using auto cal. for the last two flights and had it set to no brake. It's a pretty nice heli I just really need to work on getting the swash super level or dump some trim in. It wants to walk all over the place currently.

G,

A friend ordered the 3D kit (SE) from Flying-Hobby which came with a Zpower motor, GY401, and a Phoenix-25. I'm building/flying his, while I wait for mine.
