I got asked to review the new 6S 3000mah Outrage pack from Helidirect today. Very much looking forward to testing this pack as it's the same weight pretty much as the Align 6S 2600 25C. Should be good for about 5 mins of 3D on the Scorpion 1400 :)
If it's anything like the other Outrage packs I've run I'll be very pleased.
I also shot a new vid today of the Outrage 6S 2500 30C, it was a bit blowy for low down 3D unfortunately. I live on the coast so calm days are a bit of a rare occurence. Trev Burley also did a flight on his Medusa powered 500 with the Align 6S 2600 25C pack. Videos can be accessed on the link below.

I am sure these packs will be Outrageous flight time.
Trextuning, I read your review the Trex 500 motors. 500L, Medusa and Z20 motor and battery comparison.

its says ' Z20: Had one flight and was removed, say no more.'
Well I have tried the Z20 motor and its best motor I have used so far on the Trex 500. Better running than the 500L, and Scorpion 1000 that I did try. Maybe I read it wrong?

When tried it didn't perform, I can always put it in again and run some graphs but IMO it was less suited to 3D than the 500L. The blog entry referenced was when we were looking for something that could deliver more than a 500L, for hard 3D flying (the motor was run in Trev Burley's machine) his feedback was that the 500L was better, so it was removed and we moved on. I can always stick it on the bench and run it just to put some real figures on it.

Sound good. But i wonder how these packs will perform after 50 flights and if they puff or lose capacity.
Anyway. 3000 mAh 6S within the same Weight as the 2500 mAh align is great ! What are the dimensions ? does it fit with in a stock T500 or do you need the canopy mod ?

I'm not as far as 50 flights yet (not far off) but there is no sign of puffing so far. The dimensions for the 3000 I'm not sure of and they aren't on the site. Next time I talk with Steve I'll ask him, I'm pretty sure it fits without mods but I'll verify.

I got dimensions, it's 39*44*138mm
That will fit without canopy mods.

I have a 2500 25c with 56 flight on it. And they are very strong. But at the end of the flight they come down slightly puffed or soft. Is that Normal? I have never over discharged them.

Nice flying lads! What kind of temps are the packs coming off the helis at? What kind of mAh are you putting back in them? I have Thunder Power packs for my 500 and the temps keep rising the more cycles I put on them, is that normal for all brands?

have you taken into account the increasing summer heat?
mine land hotter and so does my motor, but its in the 90's now and it was in the 70s 2 months ago here

The price is $179.95 for the 3000.
The packs in the video come off warm, I wouldn't call them hot but a good warmth to them.

I have some of these packs on the way as well. Kevin (fireup) will be testing them as well on his Scorpion 1400 flybarless rig.
As far as how long they last see my outrage pack review video in my forum. I interview pilots that have over 75 flights on the 3s 2200's. I believe now that talking with people that have used them for a few months lets THEM tell you how they like them. I refuse to do longevity testing on packs anymore. It's just too darn time consuming and not fun :)
Kevin and I personally have well over 50 flights on the 6S 2500 30C and 25C as well as the 3300 30C packs.
I think this 3000 pack might be the best "fit" for the Trex500... We shall see.

I agree Bob, this 6S 3000 came out of a discussion between myself and Steve at HeliDirect where I was telling him what I wanted (mah, size, weight) rather than picking a pack from what he had already got, a few weeks later and the packs arrived, looking forward to testing it out and big thumbs up to Steve for listening to me harping on about the perfect pack :)

How are these packs compared to FlightPower packs? are they better than flight powers?
Thanks

In my view the Align packs beat the FP offerings (I've only tried EVO 25s) and the Outrage packs beat the Align. However, I'd say Bob has more experience in this area than me as I'm not a fan of FP and tend to avoid them. I have been meaning to do some charts on the FP stuff to show the differences but I need to get some new FPs in to do it.
