im wanting to move into nitro helis and my local has a rtf 30 raptor out of the box. it has a .39 motor on it with all the servos and gyro. as i said its ready to fly. for 799 is this a good deal or shold i look into a 50 size heli. i already have a 450 t-rex and can do all sport manovers and some 3d.

thanks

I say go for the 50. I don't like the .39. It didn't want to run consistently after a few gallons.

The 50 has alot better power and you will be wanting it really soon with the 30 size. If you do get a 30, get the OS .37 motor.

I couldn't agree more with all of these words.

The TT 39 is a difficult engine to tune.

If your in the hobby for keeps then go with a 50. The power to weight ratio is so much better.

Go for the .50.

I picked up a Raptor .30 last year and, although it flew pretty well, there was little in the way of a power reserve.

The difference between the Raptor 30 and 50 is phenominal.

It will cost you more to upgrade from the 30 to the 50 later also.

Again, go for the 50.

Yep, I just changed to a 50 after having non stop problems with my 30 with engine tuning. even replaced the engine and still had the same overheating/tuning problems. Always ran extremely hot even after having very experienced pilots look at it for me. My new 50 runs perfect straight out the box almost. 18% oil, 5% nitro - sweet...
