Just got a Hirobo XRB, 1st coax, and new to sport. Hovers very easily, but when I give it aileron or elevator commands it tends to wobble in the air as it moves the command direction.
Is this normal for a coax, or are some adjustments required (ie trim and/or tracking)? The only adjustments I have made was to balence the blades.
I also have a esky HBFP and that is much more stable following input commands.
Has anyone used any other blades than the foam Hirobo? Will a plastic set work?
Thanks!

drsmith751, Ive used the carbon fiber blades and it flew "less stable" than the stock as well as a blade cx2 brand of plastic blades which were better than the carbon fiber, but still a little unstable. There are tricks however to keep flying after little crashes such as taping the blades with packaging tape, the clear 1.5" stuff. Just tape top and bottom with folding over the leading edge and then trimming...you'll be amazed that they would last 4-5 crashes and still fly "pretty good."
As for the flying wobble, If you balanced the blades using tape, programmed the XRB correctly via the instructions (you have to turn the helo on, wait 3 seconds without touching it, then turn on the motor button. Fly it, trim with the radio) you should be set for flight. Thats all I did, mine can fly almost hands off for a couple seconds and it's fun...I'll even go out as far as sayin it can be used as a learning aide due to how stable it is. Anyway, I hope some of this helps you out...it is a great lil helicopter and its fun around the house or hangar!

Thanks for the info. I believe I have been doing all the steps correctly, but I will double check. When the heli is hovering in a fixed position it is stable, but when I give it cyclic it kind of wobbles in the air for a while and then settles out.
I was thinking it may be a blade tracking issue. Have you had to mess with the tracking of the main blades? Also, I have not made any adjustment to the trim settings on the heli. It doesn’t seem like you had to do any of that. My next step is to go thru the procedure in the manual step by step to confirm all the setting.
Thanks for the tip about blade repair. These blades do break very easily.
Thanks again for you comments!!!

As far as tracking, there really isn't a whole lot you can do due to the design. The whole head (top and bottom units) were designed in a way so you can use the counter rotation in your favor for steadiness, stability, movement...everything will be a little bit slower but more stable. For blade balancing you can also use the thin metal tape you buy at hobby stores for other make of model helicopters, that seemed to work well.
I've noticed the flight characteristics of this bird is such that the swash on up is really lite compared to the body of the helicopter. So when your flying around and come to an ubrupt manuever, the helicopter tends to sway a little bit until it can steady itself. Another thing is it "could" be a tweaked plastic grip or something is off due to packaging or whatever... there are also upgrades you can find that will make it fly a little better, but then again how much money do you want to put into this helicopter. Helihobby is one of those places for new bodies, carbon fiber upgrades and I think you can still buy stock parts for the whole deal. Enjoy, and again hope this helps.

Here's a link to the Hirobo site -

There are two screws on the blade holders that hold the uper and lower halfs of the blade holders together but they don't adjust the pitch. The only pitch adjustment on the upper blades is the the link between the blade holders and flybar as shown in the pic.
