Now then, I sometimes scroll down through other forums on HF (I have a Rex so I look there abit) I look at the Main Forum and Off Topics. I read with interest the articles there but.......I can't find anywhere where there seems to be such fun and banter going on! Now I know we all have Hurricanes but why else do we seem to have gathered such a humourous (English and CORRECT spelling!) bunch of Nutters on this forum. No one told us to come here, is it something telestrial? Don't get me wrong, I love it, but, how did it happen?

It's definately the Force...

I also look at three other sites and they all suck.....

RCG had one thread for the 550 about a zillion posts and they actually just talk about problems......no fun...no banter.....RR has a forum for the 550 and it has almost nothing.

HF is by far the best bunch of guys amd most fun.......

I agree with you JB.....HF and the 550 bunch are the best......maybe it's becuase we are all cheap bast**ds and won't spend the money on a Trexx 600...

I must check this site a 1000 times a day......and am disapointed when theres nothing new.

Funny that

I was just thinking that this forum is really on fire at the moment

Even the wife was curious as to what i was laughing at and when i showed her she wanted to read all the other funny sill posts. She finally understands why i like to read these forums and how crucial they are to our hobby.

I also read the Rex 450 forum from time to time, more so now that i have my own on the waythanks to JB, and they are no where near as friendly or as helpfull over there as you all are here.

How cool would it be to have a HeliFreak Hurricane Fun Fly and meet up with everyone at the same time!!

it's simple really... we all know we have the best heli out there... sure we occasionally have a problem or 2 that pops up but for the most part we have a heli that we get to fly more than fix.. so it makes us happy... being happy, we want to tell everyone else how happy we are..and in doing so... we get to pick on that beach bum JB and his male model "partner" Wazzer.. what more could anyone really ask for...

I agree with what mjdee14 have said about the other forums. HF has lots people sharing information, reporting possible problems but also their solution and having fun with in the process.

Actually without HF and Finless videos I don’t think I would be in this great hobby. Almost a year in to it and I love every minute.

Everyday in work I have to spent at least 10 minutes at the HF to go through last days event and findings from the other freaks like me. At some cases I believe this HF madness reaches the levels of obsession.

Anyway the amazing thing is that this phenomenon is global having guys logging in from everywhere.

That's the best part...the global thing....and how we all are bonded with the same common goal.....Except JB and Wazzer...they are bonded a little "Tighter" than the rest of us !! (if you know what I mean):whip...notice limp wrist !

I don’t blame them (JB and Wazzer) ... Actually I envy them. I wish I could spend more time with my heli (every single day) and while waiting my batteries to charge I could chat in the HF forum...

So That's it then, a touch of madness, a little homo erotica, nothing doing on the other sites, too cheap to buy a Rex 500, craving to be with our helis more often than our wives (Becky if you read this....that's a joke right!!!), folically challenged, poor eyesight, boredom at work, a desire to beat up JB and Wazzer, jealousy of the island lifestyle.....all the ingrdients you need for an excellent forum.

Keep up the good work guys

PS. Anyone want to buy some hair...I got sh*tloads!!! ha ha ha

First off, Jungle Bob, Back Hair futures are WAY down, so hang on to that stuff for better times.

Second, astute observation on the abundance of fun and friendliness here on the Hurricane forums. I was just thinking about it the other day and being thankful to have stumbled upon such a great group of nut jobs! I am LOVING my Hurricane so far, and a significant part of that love comes from Wazzer's silver makeup and diaper with a Li-Po in it! :clappp

Oh yeah, and you guys are all smart! I like smart people!

I hope none of our wives read this thread....mine already knows I'm nuts and in love with helis and flying....been flying models for at least 55 years..! (damn I'm old)...i remember my first electric plane used a potato with two nails in it for power :bs well not quite...

Would love to have a fly in at Borneo...we all stay at JB and Wazzer's...their wives would divorce them after we left....

We can put you up and both of our wives are VERY cool. They would find it hilarious, bunch of old codgers the beach with their helis. They give us enough 'stick' but it is all in good humour, and we DO do spoil them from time to time. Still waitin for my pics Wazzer! Xomby, I would like to rule myself out of the 'you people are smart' description, I'm NOT! Thanks for the hair advice though, I could have lost a bundle there!

Ahhhhh :hug::hug::hug:

I reckon the fact that we are all too old, too decrepit, and too tired to fight might have something to do with it. The testosterone-charged mini-heli forums on RCG etc. is filled with younger guys with loads of attitude and hair as opposed to out banter-filled ramblings. Old age definitely has it's advantages, but unfortunately I've forgotten what they are  In fact I've forgotten what I originally came on here to say as well - anyone seen my glasses ?

Its not about the money, we are here cuz we are all smart and developed, LOL speaking for some. We all know the Hurry is by far the easiest platform to learn on. Sure I have a Trex 500 and looking at a logo 600 but I wont do my 'wicked noob 3D' on those unless I have done it on my Hurry. I have been in the hobby for 20 years flying airplanes and started flying helis beginning of the year and loved the challenges and it hasn't been easy. You learn one thing and you gotta do the same thing 8 different ways. So far in 6 months have logged 500+ flights and I am not even 10 percent of what I want to do.

...old codgers on the beach... !

Picture us all on the beach in SPEEDOS (ughh) we could actually ruin the tourist trade there.

He's back in the UK...visiting his "Queen"

Better watch out he may come "Sir JB" then we would never hear the end of it....

Wazzer would have to call him "Your Grace"....or Yes my leagge (or however the hell you spell it)

I'm very lucky myself in the wife department. 21 years this year... and I'll tell you, it gets better and better and better... for her every year!! :YeaBaby:

Actually tonight I hovered my Hurricane for the first time!!!! What a freakin KICK IN THE PANTS!!! I came inside (didn't tell wife or sons ahead of time as I wanted to crash alone if it was to happen) and I could see her really getting a kick out of me having to be peeled off the ceiling from pure joy and excitement! My boys were giving each other high-fives and everything... was a very cool moment at the Xomby house.

In fact, I don't get this kind of adrenaline rush too often anymore at my very young 42 years, but it was just AWESOME! My 2 weeks of careful building and setting up really paid off. Thank you thank you thank you Finless for an awesome site and all the videos. Then there's my new friends here in the 550 forums. Just freakin' awesome! ... yeah, I'm still flying high :)

congrats on the maiden hover!!! it's an incredicble heli isn't it... just hangs there like it was on a string...

Congrats Xomby.....your hooked on the 550 now....it really is a "kick in the pants" and it only gets better....wait till you see how easy it flys FF, Loops, etc. It's scary at first because it's so big and the 22v really spins the blades...but man it is a dream.

I honestly can't see myself outgrowing this heli.....

I have friends at the field that fly 90 cu in ships and have $2000 crashes....!!! :arggg::arggg:

No thanks I'll take my 550.....and Finless was not real pleased with the first batch.....but I think Gaui did a fantastic job fixing problems and supporting the heli with new parts and upgrades.

Now....get out there and fly....and buy one each for your two boys......!!!

I got the H550 cause it is big, like I mean I can see the thing from more than 5 metres (yards are close enough for you guys that don't speak the Queens English). I tried a Honeybee CP2 for a few weeks.
I agree with being a cheap bastard although I am heading to being a POOR cheap bastard.:YeaBaby:
I know you guys talk about how stable it is. Stable is a relative term, mine likes hovering tail in, nose in, laterally nose pointing left but it does not like pointing right laterally!!:arggg:
The hardest thing with this stupid hobby is the mind games one must play to get past the next hurdle. First hover ( well done Xomby), then 45 degree hovers, then lateral hovers and then Nose in, circuits etc ... ... ... does it ever stop?
I still got a few years left in me yet and plenty of hair to boot but as I have said, failing eyesight, going deaf (at least selectively:roll:) and stubborn.

Mike, I think I'll pass on the Speedos on the beach thing. Think I'd prefer to look at the hard-bellies on the beach. No offense but old men, well blokes just don't do it for me.:kiss

Eddy, I agree on the speedos....we'll leave that part out..

I know it's nice to be able to do all the stuff like nose in, etc, but I'll tell ya....I got real goot at hvering...then side to side tail in....played a lot with the sim, then kind of went into FF....as I got more comfortable flying some of the other stuff starts to come more naturally....

There are probably several different stages of learning, but I think some of these printed courses can drive you crazy....the main thing is to have fun while learning....

I must have had 10 hours of sim time doing autos before trying one...now there is now fear at all in hiting TH and floating down.

Thanks for the nice "Conga Rats", I really appreciate it.

It's the next morning "after maiden hover" and I'm still just giddy as a school girl!

Oh, and Mjdee, you are now a "hero" of sorts to my boys. I just read them your suggestion to go out and buy them each a 550! They LOVED that idea! Actually I LOVE the idea as well, and it may be a project we look at down the road a bit. I'm so blessed to have these guys, they are 10 and 11, starting 5th and 6th grades this fall, straight A's all the way, and for the most part polite gentlemen.

We are actually building a GreatPlanes PT-40 together right now. A project I started about 5 years ago, but went dormant due to "budget issues", hehe. In fact, the boys are using their own funds to get the $200 or so parts and field equipment needed to finish the build and go flying.

Anyway, I'll shut up now, hehe, nothing worse than hearing too much about "other peoples' kids". LMAO!:rolling

Right then, if Mdjee is your boy's hero I want to be the ogre!! Stop them from watching their dad fly, promise them nothing! Straight A's...NOT GOOD ENOUGH, more studying!!! Let them work and buy their own gear (I have personal experience of this kind of scrounging behaviour...Wazzer sitting under my table hoping I will drop a servo or something!). Buy them a PiccoZ between them....let them fight for it!!

Only jokin' mate, welcome to the sport boys...don't listen to the bad men on this forum...the're all MAD!

bob..... i concur......strangely enough was even thinking about posting something similar but didn't want to appear gay.guess some people don't have those worries anymore......even in the rest of hf people appear to be(shudder) a little anal(honestly if i had known what the foreplay comment was going kick off....i'd probably have made it sooner).i asked a question in the help section and three or four posts down someone else asked a perfectly relevant question and then apologized for hijacking my thread.WTF.THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A HALF DECENT HIJACK EVEN LOOKS LIKE.......OK FORGOT TO TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF.......so ben and bob and mikes and the rest of ya.....boys we got a good thing going here.my one fingered typings even got alot quicker :rolling
